Zenitsu Agatsuma (我妻 善逸) is one of the two tritagonists (alongside Inosuke Hashibira) of the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba franchise.

Zenitsu is a member of the Demon Slayer Corps, and is one of Tanjiro's closest friends and main traveling companions. Although originally roped into joining the corps by his mentor, Jigoro Kuwajima, he comes to realize the importance of the Demon Slayer Corps and serves with absolute loyalty, as he wishes to repay his debt to Kuwajima for giving him a purpose.

He is voiced by Hiro Shimono in Japanese, who also voiced Rex, and Aleks Le in English, who also voiced Makoto Yuki.

What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Good?[]

  • Entered the Mansion to save an elder brother of two siblings.
  • Though unaware, he protected Nezuko when Inosuke is trying to kill her.
  • He loves Nezuko and would do anything for her.
    • While he doesn't aware about her, he protected the box knowing that this is important to Tanjiro.
  • Protected a boy by slaying the Tongue Demon who chased them.
  • Killed Spider Brother to prevent any more victims from infection.
  • He and others protected 200 victims during the Infinity Train arc.
  • Wanted the improve himself after being affected by Rengoku's words.
  • Helped Tengen finding his missing wives.
  • While Tanjiro is slaying Gyutaro, Zenitsu and Inosuke slay Daki together, ending their rampage.
  • After his master committed suicide due to Kaigaku's descend into villainy, he subverted his cowardice, and his Hero by Proxy status to slay Kaigaku for betraying his master.
  • He and the surviving slayers joined forces to kill Muzan.
  • Even as a hero by proxy, he showed many intentional noble deeds like protecting Nezuko when she's being attacked by Inosuke even though he's afraid of death, defended a little girl from Daki's abuse. While his sleepwalking defined his hero by proxy status, he showed to be very heroic during that state proving he's really wanting to be a hero to protect others.
    • Despite being obsessed with her, he genuinely cares and loves Nezuko Kamado.

What Prevents Him from Being Pure Good?[]

  • He has shown to be creepy and perverted towards girls, with the worst case is trying to force a random girl to be his wife because he thought he was going to die. Although his behavior towards them does cool down a bit, he still acts obsessively with Nezuko. While looking for a romantic partner isn’t exactly a bad thing, his love for Nezuko that started off mischievous could've turned into an unhealthy obsession sometimes. That being said, he does eventually lose this over time making this a minor prevention.
  • He's at times loudmouthed and a jerk, like having heat with Inosuke and possessed some hatred for Tengen for having three wives and putting him as a female-disguised servant. Not to mention, he obsessively berates Tanjiro for “misleading” him in training just because he never told them girls were training them. Despite that, it’s uncommon to legally and respectfully have more than one spouse at a time, so his surprised reaction is understandable.
  • He is somewhat physically incompetently impulsive towards Tanjiro, attempting to kill him for no good reason of when the former first met Nezuko, and also Zenitsu later continuously hit Tanjiro’s back at the Hashira Training Arc and even calling him a “jerk.”
  • He tends to have constant rivalries with Inosuke, though this is usually played for laughs.
