NOTE: Due to DC's cosmic retcons, this is a composite profile of Wonder Woman's mainstream versions.

She was once the servant of the gods, sent to teach mankind to worship them...but she learned to be human, instead. She's the Defender of Truth and Life in the struggle between heaven and humanity--between the mortal and the mythological...and she's me. I am Wonder Woman...and this is only the beginning.
~ Wonder Woman on herself.

Princess Diana of Themyscira, better known as Wonder Woman, or Diana Prince, is one of the main protagonists of the DC Universe. She is the titular main protagonist of the Wonder Woman comics. She is an Amazon warrior who believes in the rights and equality of all.

Her Good Ranking[]

What Makes Her Close to Being Pure Good?[]

In General[]

  • She's an inspirational figure and superheroine who has defended the world from many dangerous threats.
  • She's a strong advocate for the rights of women, often trying to make serious change in the world for their benefit, yet even so, she still has been shown to be willing to save the lives of misogynists, simply because it is the right thing to do.
  • In spite of DC's high admirable standards, Wonder Woman easily stands out, as she saves the world, universe, and even multiverse, more than once.

Pre-Crisis[]

  • She violates her island's rules about disallowing men to save the life of Steve Trevor, deeming his life more valuable.
  • She forces the leader of an alien race known as the Saturnians to form a peace treaty with Earth to stop them from invading and enslaving human beings, in turn getting the return of several humans they'd already taken.
  • She saved children from the Nazis.

Post-Crisis[]

  • She saves the world from Ares's plan of causing a nuclear holocaust that would've killed billions.
  • She frees Heracles from his FWTD where he was turned to stone and forced to hold up the island of Themyscira for several years.
  • Destroys the Sangtee power station and saves the slaves on it, freeing them from their obligations.
  • When Hippolyta rigs a contest for Artemis to win and become the new Wonder Woman after hearing Wonder Woman would die to kill her, Diana is greatly angered, not wanting someone else sacrificed for her sake, and goes to save Artemis from her fate.
  • She snaps Maxwell Lord's neck, and while deadly and lethal, this was the only way to break his mental hold on Superman and stop him from forcing Superman to kill his own loved ones.

New 52[]

  • While the Amazons are mostly rapists in this continuity, Wonder Woman never engages in this, and doesn't learn about it for a long while, and is disgusted when she finally does.
  • She kills Maxwell Lord, which in this timeline was to stop him from committing genocide on meta-humans.

Rebirth[]

  • She evacuates a refugee camp in Greece when terrorists attempt to bomb it.
  • When attending the wedding of Etta Candy's brother, she looks for a little girl's shoe after being asked by her, and when she finds it, she also finds a bomb hidden under a table. Thinking quickly, she hugs the bomb, shielding the wedding guests from the blast with her own body. When a piece of shrapnel hits Etta, she flies her to the hospital, making sure she gets the help she needs to survive.
  • She forms a new Justice League Dark, consisting of herself, Zatanna, Swamp Thing, Detective Chimp, and Man-Bat, to defeat the Upside-Down Man and save magic itself.
  • When Zatanna realizes magic must be restructured and gives the Ruby of Life to Wonder Woman due to her not being a magical creature, she performed the ritual to restructure magic for the better.
  • When the Batman Who Laughs tried to destroy the multiverse, she fought against him, ultimately killing him by throwing him into the Final Sun and letting him burn, choosing to allow the multiverse to be destroyed by the Hands instead. The Hands are shocked but admire her choice, and choose to restore the multiverse out of this admiration.

What Prevents Her From Being Pure Good?[]

  • At the end of the day, she's a warrior, and she lacks any sort of moral code against killing. While she doesn't enjoy it or do it regularly, therefore making it a relatively minor prevention, her lethality has been shown several times to make Superman uncomfortable, yet she still kills her villains on occasion.

Trivia[]

  • Ironically, the Trinity of DC heroes, her, Batman, and Superman are the three main heroic moral rankings. Superman is Pure Good, Wonder Woman is Near Pure Good, and Batman is Inconsistently Admirable.
