Winry Rockbell is a main character of the anime/manga series Fullmetal Alchemist. She is a close, childhood friend of Alphonse and Edward Elric, almost like a sister for the two and their only family. She acts as Edward's rear line supports as his personal auto mail engineer and mechanic, making sure his prosthetic right arm and left leg are always in good working order. She eventually becomes his love interest.
She is voiced by Megumi Takamoto in the Japanese version of the anime, and by Caitlin Glass in the English version.

What Makes Her Close to Being Pure Good?[]
- When Edward lost an arm and a leg, due to the failed transmutation, she, along with Pinako, saved his life with an emergency surgery.
- Is deeply worried about Alphonse and Edward being taken away by the military like her parents had.
- She created Ed's new arm from scratch to aid him in his journey.
- Even after Ed's arm has been obliterated and damaged beyond repair, she still decides to help him by making a new auto mail arm from scratch, sacrificing her sleep for three days and two nights.
- She was wracked with guilt over a malfunction she accidentally caused due to her sleep deprivation, visits and apologizes at Edward for indirectly causing his injuries for not doing a perfect job at building his arm.
- Confided to Maes Hughes that she's deeply worried about the Elric brothers since they are constantly keeping secrets of their dangerous life from her.
- When Alphonse says the reason about his aloof behavior, she scolds him and explains that Edward would never risk his life to create a false younger brother and that he is constantly wracked with the guilt for what he did to Al. She then tells Al to go apologize to his brother.
- After hearing about Paniya's tragic backstory, she persuaded Paniya into giving up her thieving ways, making her into a better person.

- When she overhears about Scar is the one who killed her parents, she is enraged and attempts to kill him, but thanks to Edward's attempts and his words, she does not go through with this.
- Due to her hard working skills, she has customers piling into Gartfeil's shop, saying how they refused to be auto mailed by anyone but her.
- Thanks Edward for stopping her from killing Scar, asserting the fact that she wouldn't be able to face her customers with blood on her hands.
- Though she has not come to terms with the fate of her parents, she affirms by saying that she will pull through as long as she has people who wait for her and believe in her.
- When Ed calls her out of concern she was being targeted, she expresses gratitude for the gesture, noting it was rare to receive a call from Ed and how happy it made her to know he cared about her.
- When she encounters Scar once more, instead of taking revenge, she bandages Scar's wounded arm. Though she still does not forgive him for what he's done, she says that this is what her parents would have done.
- She broke the cycle of hatred by not taking revenge on Scar and choosing to work with him in a fake hostage situation.
- When Ed tells her of the impending danger and to leave the country because of this, she refuses, wanting to help Ed out in any way she can.
- When she spots Ed and Al with his original body, she cries tears of joy, jumping on them while hugging them.
- When Edward's proposes to her with an "Equivalent Exchange" with half his life, she responds and says that she'll give him her entire life.

What Prevents Her From Being Pure Good?[]
- When she accidentally forgot about a missing bolt for Edward's automobile, which caused him to get injured by Envy, though she apologized to him about being indirectly responsible for his injuries, when Ed didn't notice that it was her fault and blamed himself, she is more concerned about the fact that he didn't notice the missing bolt and coolly allows the matter to be swept under the rug.
- Went against Ed's wishes when she wanted to let Paniya off the hook in exchange for meeting the auto mail engineer who helped design her mechanical appendages, despite her stealing Edward's State Alchemist pocket watch.
- Though it is played for laughs, she has hit Edward (and once Alphonse) with her wrench every time he broke her automail to the point that Ed would bleed, and can have a few jerkish moments, though she only hits Edward when provoked sufficiently and is shown having a decent and loving relationship with him otherwise.
