~ Wallace and Nguyen scolding Grizz Bear's incompetence. |
Wallace is a supporting character of the We Bare Bears franchise.
Wallace is the shortest, yet strongest-willed and most reliable leader of the Poppy Rangers. Wallace is a brave and adventurous little girl scout/park ranger and troop who has a close friendship with Ranger Tabes and the bears, more especially Grizzly. She aspires to grow up and become a professional park ranger in the future, like Tabes herself. Similar to Ice Bear, Wallace is shown to be the most capable in several methods and scenarios thanks to her sheer valor and hyperawareness, as well as her skill in kickball. As such, Wallace has the combination of being the strongest, the cleverest and the most reliable of the Poppy Rangers, but her maturity is quite mediocre for a role leader. Wallace shows high commitment to her aforementioned fellow Poppy Rangers. Additionally, reflecting her leadership, Wallace is shown to be the most sophisticated and bravest of the Poppy Rangers, but there are occasions where Wallace still shows signs of paranoia nonetheless. Not only is she a genius and strong leader, she is also essential and virtually resourceful to the Poppy Rangers' childhood and teamwork. Outside of her career as a park ranger like Ranger Tabes, Wallace is typically seen casually playing with the other Poppy Rangers and having fun, more especially by flying kites.
Wallace is voiced by Cate Gragnani.
Her Good Ranking[]
What Makes Her Close to Being Pure Good?[]
In general[]
- In general, Wallace is a supportive, affable and faithful girl who excels in paragonic and skilled leadership.
- She is shown to be beneficial and influential in numerous moments, showing high loyalty towards her fellow Poppy Rangers and more especially, Ranger Tabes and Grizz Bear, and Wallace is almost never overconfident and incompetent in her heroism compared to the two, respectively, as with the other Poppies.
- As she is the leader of the Poppies, Wallace performs her strongest efforts she can to protect and support her fellow Poppies, Ranger Tabes and Grizz.
- Wallace typically follows all of Ranger Tabes and Grizzly's commands, regardless of the severe consequences that awaits from their corresponding commands.
- Despite fluctuating and being the most blunt towards Grizz out of the Poppies from time to time, Wallace builds a huge friendship towards Grizz Bear, even though she was astonished to encounter him for the first time, equivalent to Chloe's interaction with the three bears. Additionally, Wallace even refers him as "Bear Guy" rather than just aliasing him as a traditional bear animal by basically calling him "Bear," like the other Poppies, which references Grizz and his fellow bear brothers' philanthropic interaction with the human race.
- Wallace is a voice of pure reason in several occasions:
- When Ranger Tabes encourages Wallace and the other Poppies to explore the Howling Mountain Cave for the Spelunking Badge, Wallace and the other Poppies were reluctant on it and tried to reason with her, even after Tabes influenced Wallace that conquering the Howling Mountain Cave is worthwhile to attain the Spelunking Badge as a reward, which caused Wallace to immediately (but temporarily) change her mind, fearing the danger they will get themselves into (and sided with Grizz in deciding to take the safer route of the cave), such as being eventually stranded in the cave, and Ranger Tabes felt insecure and pessimistic when they did get stranded, but Wallace encouraged her that she is still an excellent forest ranger, stating that she would lose her other eye for Tabes in a show of sheer selflessness and kindness, motivating Tabes into optimism and getting herself, Grizz, Wallace and the other Poppy Rangers out of the cave.
- Wallace attempted to break up the heated argument between Grizz and Tabes on deciding to cross the narrow and thin path that leads to the gateway of the Howling Mountain Cave to prevent the aforementioned cave from collapsing on them, Wallace herself and the other Poppies.
- While hunting down for food in Lord of the Poppies, Wallace tried to peek at the guidebook to prevent Grizz from feeding Diaz the wrong berries and causing her to vomit.
- After the Ranger War in the episode, Lord of the Poppies, Wallace was reluctant on eating Grizz, even though she and the other Poppies kidnapped him in the first place to do so, going as far as questioning Grizz's assurance for them to devour him, indicating that they no longer want to eat him, but this was out of immense starvation that comes sheer insanity, and even Grizz himself allowed Wallace and the Poppies to devour him in order to keep them alive, so this is understandable.
- Despite being dismissive of Grizz and his incompetence in the annual Peewee Ranger Games, Wallace eventually motivates and encourage him to defeat the Ivy Rangers, and feels remorseful of dismissing Grizz and his initial lack of skill in the annual game. Additionally, Wallace is the one to come up with the idea to cheerlead for Grizz, in which the latter reforms his incompetence because of this.
Her actions[]
- Although this was caused indirectly, Wallace saved Ice Bear and Chloe's lives from an incoming Subway Train by getting her kite blown away by the Hurricane Hal, causing it to land onto the windshield of Charlie's "house" (with Panda in it) that led the latter into crashing into an electrical tower, causing a chain reaction that triggered a city-wide blackout, stopping the train and saving Ice Bear and Chloe's lives. If this did not happen, the Subway Train would run Chloe and Ice Bear over.
- Although she was primarily after the Spelunking Badge, Wallace progressively became reluctant on it and sided with Grizz on taking the lighter and safer route of the Howling Mountain Cave, which would prevent her, Grizz and Tabes from eventually getting stranded in the cave as a result of taking the darker and riskier route of the cave.
- While Wallace likely sounded a bit too arrogant on bragging about Grizz's incompetence and how he managed to start a series of flames that were otherwise impossible to do so while attaining the other previous Camping Poppy Badges before attempting to attain the Island Camping Badges, questioning how he managed to start a fire underwater, and being disappointed at first that Ranger Tabes left Grizz with the Poppies in while Tabes sets off to return back to the Ranger Station to bring their lunch back to them after she forgot due to Grizz distracting her by getting bug spray on his eyes (which Wallace blames Grizz for such nuisance, without knowing that it was a mistake in the first place), these instances are completely understandable because those aforementioned moments are for Grizz to reform from his incompetence, as Grizz started a fire while attaining the Forest Camping Badge, which would have started a forest fire, and Grizz likely got bug spray on his eyes out of his traditional misguidance.
- While Wallace did sneak out of the Poppy Station to fly her kite in the Hurricane Hal, not cooperating to Grizz's multiple pleads to return back to the Ranger Station nor even being aware of the aforementioned hurricane being very dangerous to remain outdoors until her "Mighty Eagle" kite got blown away, along with herself as well, prompting Grizz and the other Poppies to save her, this was out of huge misguidance, so this is completely justifiable. Plus, Wallace did eventually cooperate with Grizz to return back to the Ranger Station after her kite got blown away, stating that it is "kinda crazy out here." Furthermore, while she had all rights to be upset about her "Mighty Eagle" kite getting flown away by the Hurricane Hal, Wallace is very grateful of Grizz's savior for her from the Hurricane Hal, as she knows that having Grizz as her dearest friend and her fellow Poppies as her dearest childhood friends are far more important in life than kiting.
- While working for the Underwater Camping Badge, as Grizz somehow managed to accidentally set his swimming suit on fire underwater through unknown means, Wallace saved his life by using the fire extinguisher on him to prevent Grizz from being burnt, even though she was disappointed over Grizz's incompetence in such instance.
- While thinking of an idea to motivate Grizz from his lack of skill in kickball during the Peewee Ranger Games (as well as his overall incompetence) and to defeat the Ivy Rangers and Ranger Zhao in the aforementioned Peewee Ranger Games, Wallace is the one to come up with the idea of her and the other Poppy Rangers cheerleading for Grizz as a positive influence to Grizz in order to make the latter reform himself from his traditional incompetence and to successfully defeat the Ivy Rangers and Ranger Zhao in the Peewee Ranger Games.
- While reassuring Tabes after getting stranded in the Howling Mountain Cave with her, Grizz and the other Poppies, Wallace states to Tabes in a fit of kindness and and selflessness that she would lose her other eye for her (even though she had since lost one), motivating Tabes into getting herself, Grizz and the Poppies out of the cave before it collapses onto them.
- Wallace tried to break up the heated argument between Grizz and Tabes on deciding to cross the narrow path that leads to the way out of the Howling Mountain Cave to prevent the cave from collapsing on them, Wallace herself and the other Poppies.
- While hunting down for food in the episode, Lord of the Poppies, Wallace tried to prevent Grizz from feeding Diaz the wrong berries, which caused her to vomit.
- While Ranger Tabes and Grizz are more admirable than Wallace and the other Poppies throughout the series, both of them have far more resources than Wallace as Tabes and Grizz boast almost superhuman physical strength, and the latter even possesses sharp claws and the ability to unleash a loud and devastating roar. Meanwhile, Wallace is just a little girl with genius-level intelligence and expert leadership combined with skill in spikesmanship.
- Wallace, alongside the other Poppy Rangers and their fellow commander, Ranger Tabes, assisted Grizz Bear, Ice Bear and Panda Bear in defeating Agent Trout, leading to his well-deserved imprisonment and preventing Trout from unlawfully capturing and torturing the three Bears.
- Overall, Wallace is the most admirable of the Poppy Rangers and manages to be one the most admirable overall characters in the series, which is due to the combination of indirectly saving the lives Ice Bear and Chloe, as well as directly saving Grizz's life, offering a positive influence to Grizz that would make him reform from his corrupting factors over the course of the entire series, defeating the Ivy Rangers and Ranger Zhao in the annual Peewee Ranger Games, and preventing Agent Trout from unlawfully capturing and torturing Grizz, Panda and Ice Bear (along with Ranger Tabes and the other Poppies), all with a surprisingly low number of resources in comparison to the other characters in the franchise, more especially Grizz and Tabes.
What Prevents Her From Being Pure Good?[]
- Despite being the most admirable of the Poppy Rangers and managing to be one of the most admirable characters overall in the entire series, Wallace still manages to fail the admirable standards to Grizz, who saved dozens of endangered grizzly bears from a wildfire, and Ranger Tabes, who prevented Norm from annihilating the forest, and summoned the Ranger Con Rangers to imprison Norm to prevent the latter from causing even more chaos, and performed even more admirable actions throughout the series, among others.
- Despite Wallace's aforementioned loyalty towards the other Poppies, Wallace is still eager and arrogant enough to still argue and bicker with the other Poppies from time to time.
- Wallace has the least patience of Grizz's incompetence, like Nguyen, even going as far as bragging about Grizz's incompetence with achieving the recent badges and questioning how he managed to start a fire underwater. Additionally, she was also even disappointed at first that Ranger Tabes left Grizz with the Poppies in the same episode while Tabes returned back to the Poppy Station to bring their lunch back to them after she forgot due to Grizz distracting her, which Wallace blames Grizz for such, without knowing that it was a mistake in the first place.
- Wallace is shown to be prone to corrupting by having several moments of being too lethal and dissociative to be qualified as PG:
- This is demonstrated in the infamous scene in the episode, Lord of the Poppies, where she and the other Poppies fall into insanity after succumbing to immense starvation and having had enough of Grizz's incompetence in attempting to feed them, going as far as turning against Grizz and attempting to devour him after hallucinating Grizz as a burger to eat.
- Wallace stole the Elite Ranger Guidebook from Grizz after Diaz bit onto the latter's leg, and commanded Diaz and Nguyen to kidnap and devour Grizz, while Wallace remorselessly and quite sadistically watched Diaz, Nguyen, Parker and Murphy psychotically pursue and ambush Grizz to kidnap and eat him out of sheer starvation, moments before Wallace herself would be the one to kidnap and entrap him in her own hands, although this was due to Wallace hallucinating Grizz as a hamburger from too much starvation and insanity, so this is justifiable.
- In her primeval state, Wallace threatened to grill Grizz until he is "extra crispy" without visible signs of remorse, instead sadistically smirking with it.
- Along with these instances, Wallace is also too control freakish and her signs of being lethal further extends in the brutal Ranger War, where Wallace insulted and brutally fought the other Poppies for the guidebook to attain leadership, just to rule over the other Poppies out of ruthlessness, vehemently threatening Diaz that she will "tear her apart" and attempting to attack the other Poppies over the guidebook using wooden spikes, which would have heavily endangered the other Poppies.
- Even before the Ranger War, Wallace talked down to Nguyen because she was the one holding the guidebook and furiously lashed out at her while rejecting her idea of boiling Grizz into stew.
Trivia[]
- Along with the other Poppies, Wallace was originally classified as a Heroic Benchmark, but when the brilliance of her saving a number of lives (such as Grizz, Chloe Park and Ice Bear, the latter two caused indirectly) and offering a positive influence to Grizz and Ranger Tabes with even fewer resources was pointed out, Wallace was eventually approved as Near Pure Good.
