| ~ Zoé to Marinette after declaring her love and confessing her feelings for her. |
Zoe Lee is one of the heroines of the animated series Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir. She is the half-sister of Chloé Bourgeois, as well as a new friend of Marinette Dupain-Cheng. Later, she became Chloé's replacement in possession of the Bee Miraculous, and became the superheroine Vesperia.
She is voiced by Fily Keita in the French Version, and Deneen Melody in the English Version.
Her Good Ranking[]
What Makes Her Close to Being Pure Good?[]
- Even though her mother, Audrey shows neglect and no love towards her, there’s no evidence that Zoe has grudges against Audrey.
- She is the complete opposite of her sister Chloé: she is friendly, kind and vulnerable, while Chloe is rude, selfish and arrogant.
- When she arrives in Paris and accidentally meeting Marinette there, she immediately became friends with her, and even helped her pick up the fallen apples.
- Although she began to behave rudely towards Marinette and the rest of her classmates, it was only because she did not know how to behave in society, and for this she imitated Chloé.
- She was on good terms with her stepfather André Bourgeois.
- She soon stopped hiding her kind nature and became friends with other members of the school, which of course did not like Chloé.
- Although she allowed herself to be akumatized into Sole Crusher showing that she is not incorruptible, it happened unintentionally, because she was deeply offended by Chloé, and wanted to punish her fairly for this. And besides, when she returned to normal, she repented of it. Even when she was akumatized, she still care for Marinette by carrying her in her hand rather than absorbing her, (because she remembers her kindness when she first arrived in Paris), and is almost willing to stand down when the latter tries to reason with her. Even as Sole Crusher, her actions include:
- When Chloé try to manipulate her into attacking Kitty Section, she hesitated, because she didn't want to indirectly harm Marinette or her friends, resulting in Chloé threatening her to send her back to New York if she doesn't comply with her demands.
- While she did absorb Armand, the hotel residence and numerous other people during her rampage, she showed remorse for it, showing she was fully aware of which person she absorbs, when she finds out from Marinette, that the "winner and loser" concept doesn't exist, she shows sadness and heartbreak instead of anger after finding out that Chloé had been lying to her, and allowed Marinette to continue to explain reality to her.
- She decided to take pity on Marinette and allows her to continue to explain after she find out the concept of "winner and loser" doesn't exist, and eventually took her words to heart after she tells her that she will always be there for her.
- While she did try to punch Cat Noir for annoying her with a pun regarding about her large size and "starting off on the wrong foot", she decided against it after Marinette yelled at Cat Noir for interrupting, and decide to continue listening to Marinette, showing that she still had some loyalty for her.
- Soon she received the Bee Miraculous from Ladybug, and became a superhero named Vesperia, and began to help her in the fight against many villains. The first villain she defeated was the newly akumatized Chloé.
- She temporarily becomes the new owner of the Cat miraculous, and together with Alya, she temporarily became the main defender of Paris.
- She took the blunt of the blame, when Marinette was threatened with expulsion due to the actions of her half-sister, Lila and Vanisher, until the innocence of both girls were proven.
- She later confessed to Marinette that she was in love with her, and she also helped her meet Adrien.
- Together with other heroes, she continued to defend Paris from various villains.
- In "Daddycop", she comforts Sabrina over the fact that she doesn't have any friends ever since Chloé moved to London and invited her to her girls movie night. She even called the girls out when they were reluctant to invite Sabrina because of her reputation as Chloé's helper by telling them that Chloé still would have been bullying them if Sabrina hadn't found the courage to stand up to her.
- Overall, she has almost no corrupting qualities, and she is one of the most endearing and friendly characters in the franchise.
What Prevents Her From Being Pure Good?[]
- Although it is unfair to compare her with Ladybug and Cat Noir, since they have more resources and capabilities, she still does not meet the admirable standards of Alya, who, with similar resources, saved Paris more times, and defeated more villains.
- In Grendiaper, she did some quite questionable things, as Fury out of vengeance, such as:
- Leaving Bob Roth at the top of the Eiffel Tower.
- Trapping Ray, Nelson, and Loic on a roller coaster at high speed.
- Restraining the three ruffians, who intimidated her father, to force them to watch a musical (which they do not like).
- Putting a tram driver inside the panther cage at the zoo.
- Putting a boy named Sam in a humiliating baby outfit.
- While the aforementioned people were jerks, bullies, and overall not good people, she went too far with her punishments, and most of them are quite dangerous and could've gotten them seriously injured or killed. Additionally, her humiliation of Sam led to him getting akumatized into Grendiaper.
Trivia[]
- She serves as a foil to her half sister, Chloé Bourgeois, who ironically is Near Pure Evil having the same prevention: Failing the standards of their respective moral scalings.
- In the sixth season, it is revealed that she has a vengeful side and is acting as the vigilante known as Fury to punish wrongdoers. Additionally, the epilogue of “Daddycop” hints at a difficult past she had in New York. This raises questions about how her history will impact her status within the NPG.
