But, life isn't a musical, hon.
~ Vaggi, responding to Charlie's idea.
Seriously, you're pathetic, you know that? Ready to die rather than accepting mercy? No, live. Live knowing that you only do because I let you, the failure.
~ Vaggi to Lute

Vaggi, formerly known as Vaggie, is the deuteragonist of the adult animated musical dark comedy series Hazbin Hotel.

She is a fallen Exorcist angel who serves as the manager of the Hazbin Hotel. Before Niffty and Husk were recruited, she was the only employee of the hotel. She is also Charlie Morningstar's girlfriend.

She was voiced by Mónica Franco in the pilot episode. In the series proper, she is voiced by Stephanie Beatriz whi also voiced Gosalyn Waddlemeyer in Ducktales (2017).

Her Good Ranking[]

What Makes Her Close to Being Pure Good?[]

In General[]

  • Although she used to be an exorcist who killed multiple sinners, even then she had standards, as she refused to harm a child, which caused Lute to cut off her eye and banish her from heaven, which led her to be found by Charlie and led her to redeem herself and shed most of her corrupting qualities away.

Pilot[]

  • She tries to talk Charlie out of singing on TV to avoid her getting mocked and ridiculed by the people in Pentagram City.
  • She punches a random citizen for insulting her girlfriend, demonstrating her protectiveness.
  • She calls Angel Dust out for making the hotel look bad.
  • Knowing that Alastor is enigmatic and shady, Vaggie tries to keep him out of the hotel.

Season 1[]

  • She attempts to encourage the Hazbin Hotel staff and Angel Dust to make a new commercial that represents Charlie's dream, despite them not wanting to.
  • She manages to persuade Alastor to actually help make the hotel work by telling him about the empty hotel lacking entertainment.
  • She gathers the hotel staff and guests for trust exercises, with trust falls.
  • She convinces Charlie to use her authority as Princess of Hell to get Angel to skip his work hours with Valentino.
  • Upon seeing Charlie overworking herself, Vaggie tries to calm her down.
  • She convinces Charlie to call her father Lucifer, despite her issues with him.
  • Even though she's reluctant to go to Heaven with Charlie, she agrees to go with her.
  • Her boredom during her time in Heaven is understandable considering her experience there.
  • She feels remorse for hurting Charlie's feelings by keeping her past hidden from her.
  • When she finds Charlie making a deal with Alastor, she tries to stop the latter out of worry for the former.
  • She goes to Carmilla Carmine's factory to learn how to fight back against the angels.
  • She comforts Charlie before their battle against the Exorcists.
  • She, along with the hotel staff and guests, fights off against the angels.
  • After seeing Sir Pentious get vaporized, she comforts a sobbing Charlie.
  • She fights Lute to protect Charlie.
  • She spares Lute's life, signifying that she has turned over a new leaf.
  • She helps rebuild and modify the hotel after reminding Charlie of how far she has come with her hotel.

Season 2[]

  • She tries to talk Charlie out of inviting VoxTek to the hotel, knowing the company is depraved.
  • She rescues Husk and Angel from being nearly being stabbed by the angelic spear on the train that Charlie badly set up.
  • She calls Charlie out for ignoring her warnings and falling to Vox's traps.
  • She helps Charlie stop spiralling during the song "Easy".
  • She supports Charlie when she is using her powers to save Pentagram City from the Might of Lilith.

What Prevents Her From Being Pure Good?[]

  • Although she's becoming a better person, she still has moments where she's short-tempered, mistrusting, and occasionally violent.
  • While she does shed the blind lethality she had towards sinners during her time as an exorcist, she still retains a few lethal moments.
    • During the song "It Starts With Sorry", her and Angel Dust wanted to kill Sir Pentious for tricking them, even after witnessing Vox telling him to kill himself and after he was completely harmless and miserable. Although she does forgive Pentious and befriends him after, she's not shown to feel regret over this.
      • To make matters worse, Vaggi was using an angelic spear, and if she had killed Pentious using it, then Pentious would've ended up dying permanently.
    • Before learning that Lucifer can't harm sinners, she attempted to get him to "smite" Vox after he started bad-mouthing Charlie and the Hotel. While Vox absolutely would have deserved this, at that point in the series, Vaggi straight up goes to have him killed.
  • She greatly enjoyed watching Adam get killed by Niffty, as opposed to everyone else who just reacted with shock, indifference, or horror. However, it is understandable since Adam was terrible to her in Heaven.

Trivia[]

  • She is, so far, the only Hellaverse character to be Near Pure Good. However, it’s likely that the Hellaverse will have more candidates.
