~ Just shows how much he cares about his kids. |
So, I have recently finished all the Live-Action Alvin and the Chipmunks films, and while he'll be a controversial candidate, I'm convinced he qualifies, so I'll give it a try, but if it doesn't work out, then I'll happily propose him on the IA wiki instead.
What's The Work?[]
Alvin and the Chipmunks is a live-action film series made by 20th Century Studios. It follows Alvin and his brothers as they assist Dave Seville in writing music for Jett records.
Who Is He?[]
Dave Seville is the overarching protagonist of the film series. He is a songwriter who adopts Alvin and his brothers for their sakes as well as that of his career.
His Good Ranking[]
What Makes Him Close To Being Pure Good?[]
In General[]
- While he starts off hostile towards the Chipmunks at first, he quickly warms up to them and starts to love them like his own children.
- He manages to be the most admirable character in the series due to endangering himself to save his kids and the chipettes.
- Even though he is very strict with them, it never really darkens his character, and he is still taken light-headed.
- He is a scapegoat, as he is subjected to numerous injuries throughout the series.
- He consistently calls Alvin out for engaging in mischief.
Alvin and the Chipmunks[]
- He allows Alvin and his brothers to live with him when he learns of their singing talents.
- He gives Simon a pair of glasses when he shows vision impairments.
- He follows Ian's request to give the chipmunks clothing to wear and later rescues them from Ian due to missing them.
Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakuel[]
- He assigns the chipmunks in a school to improve their education.
- Even while hospitalized, he calls the chipmunks to ensure they are okay.
- Even while injured he goes out of his way to attend his kids' concert.
Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked[]
- He books a cruise for the chipmunks and the chipettes for their upcoming concert.
- When Alvin engages in mischief, he grounds him and later goes to dinner with the captain to apologize.
- In his most admirable act, he grabs a hang-glider without filing any forms to save the chipmunks and ends up endangering himself in the process.
- While he did also endanger Ian, it's not detracting given that it was unintentional, and he did warn the latter to stay away.
- He stops Ian from eating Theodore's necklace.
- He tosses a pocket knife to Alvin, allowing him to cut Zoe's rope, thus stopping her from forcing Jeanette to get treasure for her.
- He leaves the island with the chipmunks and saves them from a volcanic eruption.
Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip[]
- He stops Alvin from hosting a party without his permission and calls him out.
- While he does allow Miles to hang out with the Chipmunks, he wasn't aware of his behavior towards them.
- He hires a babysitter to keep Miles and the chipmunks in check.
- He goes to Miami to deliver a wedding ring to one of his friends.
- He orders Miles and the Chipmunks to meet him and Samantha at the airport for their safety.
- He allows the chipmunks to spend some time at a Chuck E. Cheese despite their mischief.
- On the way back home, he legally adopts the chipmunks and forgives them, only yelling at Alvin when he discovers the damage to his house that was caused by the squirrels they left behind.
What Prevents Him From Being Pure Good?[]
- He has one jerkish moment where he steals a basket of muffins from an employee at Jett Records in the first film out of spite.
Final Verdict?[]
A weak yes from me.
