What's the work?[]
Mufasa: The Lion King is the prequel to Disney's live-action adaptation of The Lion King, released in 2019. The movie follows Mufasa, who ends up orphaned, on his life with his adoptive brother, Taka, as they search for the kingdom of Milele.
Who is he?[]
Mufasa is the main protagonist of the aforementioned prequel film. He is an orphan who gets taken in by Taka and his family, and later searches for the kingdom of Milele. He founds the kingdom and benevolently rules over it after the film's events.
His Good Ranking[]
What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Good?[]
Mufasa: The Lion King[]
- He fought back at the Outsiders during their first attack, and helped Eshe get back home.
- He ordered Zazu to cover their tracks with snow to keep them safe from the Outsiders.
- He attempted to reject Sarabi in his brother's favor.
- He stopped the Outsiders from taking over Milele and ruling with an iron fist, before defeating Kiros and ending his threat.
- He held no animosity to Obasi for his mistreatment of him.
The Lion King (2019)[]
- He benevolently ruled over the Pride Lands during his reign.
- He immediately defended his kingdom from the hyena attack when alerted of it, and had Simba sent home for his safety.
- He saved Simba and Nala from Shenzi's clan, and called his son out for his reckless behavior.
- He told his son about the legend of the Great Kings of the Past, who would give him guidance in the event he was lost.
- He saved Simba from the wildebeest stampede at the cost of his life.
- He encouraged Simba to return to the Pride Lands, resulting in the end of Scar's tyrannical reign.
What Prevents Him From Being Pure Good?[]
- He has one Kick the Dog moment where he allows Zazu to be used as Simba's pouncing target while teaching him about hunting.
Final Verdict?[]
Much like his original counterpart, I'd say he counts.
