Hello, I've had some doubts of Martin Riggs being on this wiki because of his lethality and mischievousness being too severe. At first when I proposed him on this wiki in 2022 along with Roger Murtaugh, I thought that his corrupting factors weren't that bad, but after rewatching the movies, I think that he's better off on the IA wiki despite him subverting his anti-heroic traits, so let's get started.

What's The Work?[]
Lethal Weapon is an action comedy film series that focuses on two cops named Martin Riggs and Roger Murtaugh as they protect and serve Los Angeles from criminals and crime lords.
Who Is He?[]
Martin Riggs is a reckless and suicidal cop who went through a tragic past of his wife being killed and teams up with his best friend Roger Murtaugh to protect L.A. from crime lords.
Why Doesn't He Qualify?[]
For starters, while Riggs is definitely admirable as he stopped many villains, he can still be far too mischievous as he toys with his enemies and can be sadistic to them and he can be too lethal. While he stopped acting anti-heroic and suicidal in the first movie, he still has some unsubverted traits that could be too severe, so I'm going to talk about it.
In this scene of the second movie, Riggs sneaks into Arjen Rudd's office and finds out information about their plans and orders them to get out of his country and when Rudd orders him to leave, Riggs plays eenie, meenie, miney, mo and says "Hey mo!" as he shoots Arjen Rudd's fish tank, releasing a lot of his fish from his tank and almost flooding his office. While Rudd is pure evil and is not sympathetic in any way, Riggs still showed no remorse for releasing his fish from the tank as fish tend to die without water as he happily said as he walked away: "Big smiles". Next, I want to talk about his lethality. While most of his kills are justified since most of his enemies are dangerous crime lords and brutal henchmen, there was one time where he literally snapped the neck of a henchmen and killed the other by smashing his head through a car window and banging his head with the car door 4 times. While this was justified since they killed Rika by drowning her just to spite him, it was still a bit brutal.

Also, last but not least, I want to talk about the scene in the third movie where he and Murtaugh catch a guy jaywalking. When the jaywalker was talking nonstop, Riggs acted jerkishly towards him and got fed up with his blabbering and attempted to shoot him and told Murtaugh they could make it look like suicide and scared him off, but Riggs wasn't really going to shoot him since he's a cop, but he still scared him away, even if he was a bit annoying.
