Just look at the difference...
Hey! First of all, the day I'm writing this is on Eid (I don't know when this will actually come out, haha) - but Eid Mubarak to those celebrating! As a Muslim myself, I hope you all have a great time.
Anyway. I thought I'd propose the...more 'innocent' Light from Death Note (Without his memories of being Kira). You know, the guy who isn't secretly plotting to use or murder everybody he meets. The guy who actually isn't Kira. Now, this guy has been getting some serious discussion recently for NPG/PG - I think PG may be a little too far, but I think he does fit this wiki after some thought. While initially an inconsistently admirable character, voted quite strongly for that ranking, most of the preventions previously on that wiki don't really hold up. Even the ones that remain on the wiki are incredibly minor - and you know what? I'll say it. They don't hold up much.
But why is that? Let's get into it - honestly, I wasn't expecting to propose Light Yagami of all people for NPG, but with him being one of my favourite characters of all time - and the recent discussion actually shifting my own beliefs on his moral ranking - I thought there was no reason not to give him a shot. Now, lets get started.
What's The Work?
Death Note is a 108 chapter manga, initially released in 2003, while also having a 37 episode anime of the same name released in 2006. While I will be focusing predominantly on Light from the manga (given that's where we see most of his inner thoughts and feelings, as well as him being generally more complex), this proposal also includes his anime version, given that the anime version of Light is generally just the same guy but slightly less complex (this actually arguably works in Yotsuba Light's favour! But we'll get into that later).
While the manga and anime focus predominantly on Kira Light, and his quest to 'save the world' (by becoming a mass murderer and dictating the world in fear? Nice logic, Kira) - this proposal will be focusing on the Yotsuba Arc, where Light loses his memories of being Kira, and joins the task force - where while handcuffed to L, he and the rest of the task force work to find out who the new Kira is, while Light tries to convince himself he's innocent the whole way through (seriosuly bro, we get it - you don't have to say 'I'm not Kira!' 20 times).
Who is Light Yagami?
Light Yagami is the 'anti-hero' (he was an anti-hero for 1 episode and chapter google...) turned villainous protagonist (in the 2nd chapter...) of the Death Note manga and anime series. He plans to save the world by erasing the world of all criminals...except himself. You know, that raging God complex needing to be fed and all. He is one of the smartest students in Japan, while also being the outstanding son of a proud Soichiro and Sachiko Yagami, as well as being the person his sister, Sayu Yagami looks up to whenever she needs help. He's even a tennis champion! However...this all gets twisted when he has the Death Note. His intelligence is used for evil, not the good it was likely going to be used for - his care for his family (while debateable) is less important than his mission as 'Kira' by the end - letting Soichiro die in part 2, because of his desire to kill Mello. Even his tennis skills are used for an ego boost against L. As well as this, he manipulates various people with 0 care or remorse at all - Misa Amane, Kiyomi Takada, Teru Mikami, the list could go on. Light ends up killing 1 of them, and planning to leave the other 2 alive only until they outlive their usefulness (particularly with Misa). Light eventually loses himself completely his mission - by the end, there is no more 'Light' left in the kid. Only darkness. Only Kira. And Light pathetically begs for his life by the end, dying in a truly deserved manner, Ryuk even commenting about how undignified it is.
However, this is a proposal based on Yotsuba Light. When he loses his memories of being Kira. What Light could have been. So how is Light here? Well, he's essentially your straightforward shounen MC. Heavily emotional, getting into fights, standing for 'whats right', and opposing any lives being taken. The same guy who mass murdered hundreds of thousands. Yep, that's right. Light ends up fighting to catch Kira - this Kira being Kyouseke Higuchi. He even speeds up the investigation even when it is seemingly difficult and not what you'd think he'd want to do - once his girlfriend Misa Amane was in danger. Honestly, it's so funny - bro does a complete personality switch here. Especially with Ohba's words after, saying he chose Sayu to be kidnapped in part 2 because if it were Misa Light would just 'snuff her out' - and yet, when Misa's life is at risk here, Light shows an extreme unwillingness to entertain waiting any further. All in all, Light is essentially a typical shounen MC here. Maybe jump force should've used this Light instead of Kira Light - he would've got along better with Luffy and Goku. He's the moral compass of the group, along with his father.
Admirable Standards
This has been one of two big discussion points when discussing whether Light is enough to be NPG. The Admirable Standards. Now, while debateable, I do think Light does enough in this arc to count - and here's why.
First of all, it's unfair to compare Light to L, Matsuda and the like here - L gets the whole of part 1, as well as previous achievements, to flex his admirable standards. L also has way more resources than Light does in this arc - Light is literally handcuffed to L, and everything Light uses is L's - but L has more control over the investigation, he has Watari, he has connections to highly skilled criminals, can control the media, has connections to every country in the world, etc - L simply has way more resources even in this arc. Besides that, it's unfair to compare L across the whole thing, because he gets more time. Now, specifically in this arc - I'd even argue Light actually does more to count towards the main goal of our protagonists than L - that being, catching the Yotsuba Kira. Light is the one that notices the killings from Yotsuba in the first place, and suspected them, noticing the different patterns of kills - L doesn't do this, and even he's impressed by this. L is largely merely sulking in this arc, childishly throwing the toys out of the pram because Light isn't Kira and he was wrong. This is the biggest movement towards catching the Yotsuba Kira in the whole arc. One could argue Matsuda, who I'll discuss later - but Matsuda wouldn't have even been in the position to catch out Yotsuba if Light hadn't pointed them out. Light essentially narrowed it down to 8 people from 7 billion - Matsuda's plan is more dangerous and he puts himself at greater risk, but without Light, he'd have never made that plan in the first place. Plus, L himself had a plan regarding Yotsuba - so whether Matsuda had done what he did or not, they likely would've found them out anyway. Light is the main driving force here. Given L's sulkiness and him wanting to give up on the case, though - I think it's quite likely that before Yotsuba were suspected, that if Light hadn't found them, L wouldn't have found them for a while either. He's too pissed off Light isn't Kira, even fighting with Light after saying he can't be bothered with the case anymore. Don't forget that L still has way more resources than Light here, making Light's actions stand out more - despite L having so many ways to catch out Yotsuba, and clearly being smart enough to do so, Light is the one that catches them out initially and suspects them, and Light finding them is the main driving force for everything else that happens in this arc. Even L's plan to catch Higuchi (driven forward by Light followng Misa's risky moves by the way), adopts ideas from Light. Light is the one that spells out the final plan to the task force from L, who includes Light's own ideas in his plan. Hell, even L's most admirable moment in this arc, being saving Matsuda, is still shared with Light - he sits right beside him in the ambulance, playing along with L's plan to save Matsuda, even easing Matsuda's worries later on. L in this arc just simply isn't as admirable as Light - all of L's admirable moments are shared, and Light has more included to boot. The rest of the task force aside from Matsuda also don't really do much aside from 'following plans' from Light and L - so Light stands out among these guys quite clearly, with him and his dad also being the only ones to object to L letting innocents die. Given the Yotsuba group's killings previously, we know that these killings would've happened, so Light and Soichiro save lives here, that would've died otherwise - Light himself even goes a step further by calling Namikawa to prevent these innocents dying, which is something even his dad doesn't do - delaying every Yotsuba killing by a month - so he stands out from the rest quite easily. Namikawa says they killed 2-3 people every week - so at a bare minimum, Light saves 8 lives here. As a maximum, he saves 12. Oh, and given before Light the task force hadn't really objected much to L confining and torturing a 19 year old girl, Light is the gamechanger here. Light and Soichiro as a team change things. You could argue that by capturing Kira the rest of the task force saved lives, but Light and Soichiro still have these extra, with Light even going a step further - and besides, they never captured the real Kira anyway.
However, what about Matsuda? The other guy who does quite a bit in this arc to stand out? Well, we won't be paying much attention to him across the rest of the manga here - Matsuda is present in almost the entire manga, so it isn't really fair to compare him to Light in this arc, however - in this arc specifically, Matsuda still does a LOT to stand out. He risks his life twice, once on accident and once on purpose, in order to help catch the Yotsuba Kira (which is ultimately successful). However, the issue with Matsuda is - well, for one, he still has more resources than Light. Light cannot physically do what Matsuda did in either case - Matsuda is Misa's manager, allowing him to be close to Yotsuba and attempt to infiltrate them, and...you know, he isn't handcuffed to the biggest weirdo in the world. Matsuda can do...whatever he wants, basically. Light can't. Even besides that, Light has quite a few feats himself, as discussed earlier - he's the one who pointed out Yotsuba initially, he saves 8-12 innocent businessmen when L was willing to let them die (hell, Matsuda even seemed slightly on L's side), he pushes forward with the plan against Higuchi to save Misa despite L's reluctancy (also helping her out with L's plan, despite not wanting to go along with it initially, so she didn't die), and he shares almost every single admirable feat the task force have with them. Matsuda does risk his life twice here, so he is admirable, but Light likely saved double digit lives by himself. He saves at least 8 plus Misa, so 9 - and that's a best case scenario. The worst case is 13. I simply don't think Light can fail to Matsuda in this arc - not only does Matsuda have more resources, so Light is incapable of risking his life twice like Matsuda because of the circumstances he's in, but Light saves at least NINE lives, as well as being the one to point out Yotsuba initially, which leads to Matsuda's antics in the first place.
As for Misa, most of her decisions are done under Light and L's orders, or she gets help from Rem - who herself doesn't do much except tell Misa who Kira is, after Light and the task force had already narrowed it down to 8 people. So yeah, I do think Yotsuba Light passes the standards in this arc. At a minimum, Yotsuba would've killed 8 people, and Light himself makes sure the task force capture Higuchi (as well as preventing her from doing anything stupid) in order to save her - these 9 lives, potentially 13, separate him from everyone else, especially with Light's low resources here. He passes the admirable standards in this arc, and to be honest, I do believe he passes them quite easily - his only real competition is Matsuda, who simply doesn't save as many lives as Light and has more resources anyway. Plus, Matsuda's decisions wouldn't be possible without Light.
False Mitigating Factors
Yep, I'm taking a similar approach to anime Light's NPE proposal - the reason for that, is because these are what are going to be most controversial for Light here. Light is one of the most controversial characters in all of anime/manga, and Yotsuba Light is no different - honestly, the amount of excuses I see for Yotsuba Light not actually being a hero is kind of funny. Now, it's kind of fair enough given his personality change, but I don't believe most of these ring true. There are various issues with most of them - but I'll start from easiest to debunk, to hardest to debunk. Starting with:
Egotist
Yeah, this is quite easy to debunk. While Light is one of the most prideful characters in all of fiction, this simply isn't as present in most of the Yotsuba Arc - Light directly saves 9-13 lives here, speeding up the investigation despite the fact that by the end of the arc, he seems to accept L's theory that he may actually be Kira - surely if Light were truly selfish, he wouldn't care about Misa and anyone else, and would want to slow the investigation down as much as possible to formulate a plan to win himself? But he doesn't - he's the one who pushes L to speed up the investigation for Misa in the first place, putting her life before his own. Now, Light isn't fully convinced he's Kira here, but it remains a possibility - given Light kills Naomie Misora despite her saying she wasn't gonna go to L in the manga as Kira, we know that Light would usually not risk any small possibility of being caught out. But here, he doesn't - he puts Misa's life before his own, and plays a massive part in the plan, too. Plus, his reasoning for capturing Kira is for the 'great trouble Kira has caused me and my father' - Light does genuinely care about his dad in this arc, so I do believe him here. Light even tries to cheer up L (before fighting him) when L says he's getting depressed over the investigation - this is before L says he's thinking of stopping the investigation, so Light isn't just doing this because he wants L to catch 'the real Kira' to clear his name - he has no nefarious goals here. Light's ego isn't really much present here. Hell, he even acknowledges by the end that he might be Kira, going along with L's theory - just look at his face when he's considering it here - there's no more inner monologue of denial, which is literally present EVERY other time Light is accused by L, he goes from defensive to seemingly having a look of resignation and he ultimately goes along with L's question. If Light were seriously that egotistical in this arc, he subverts it by the end - all of his moments of going 'I'm not Kira!' because he simply 'wouldn't do that' aren't present the final time he's accused in the arc. And that's important. Light finally acknowledges L might be right, and that ego preventing this idea in Light's head from earlier is now not present.
Aggressiveness towards L
This is another thing Yotsuba Light can occasionally be slapped with, and is one of his current preventions on the IA wiki - however, Light is only aggressive to L in two instances, and I do believe both are fair enough.
For the first instance - Light has just been psychologically tortured by L, being confined for 63 days while believing himself to be a truly innocent man, with him knowing his father has been placed under extreme stress, and even knowing that his sister and mother would now believe he had 'ran off with Misa' and been disowned by Soichiro - he's absolutely worn down here, and we see it later on during his confinement, Light literally lying down, resigned to this confinement with no ability to get out, with his hands cuffed. And then Light has an extremely traumatic moment, with L making a plan to have Light think he will be executed. And that's not even the only thing - EXECUTED BY HIS OWN FATHER AFTER. Soichiro even says he'll kill himself after! And Light clearly fell for this, too - he looks visibly shaken after the fact and begs his dad to let him go. Imagine having that happen to you - thinking you're going to be executed (with Misa watching, too) by your own dad, who himself will commit suicide after. It's no wonder why Light was so visibly shocked during the whole ordeal. Even after this, L still believes Light to be Kira, with Light remaining handcuffed, merely to L for the rest of the arc rather than handcuffed by himself. And then when L finally acknowledges that Light might not be Kira, he says he can't be bothered to continue investigating because of it. Later on even admitting he 'wanted' Light to be Kira. How would you react, after going through all of that, just for the guy who did it to say he's bummed you aren't Kira and therefore can't be bothered to continue the investigation? This is a heating up moment - Light himself even emphasising the innocent lives L is potentially risking here, as well as him and Misa's confinements. Both of them have been severely traumatised by L, and instead of admitting he's wrong and moving forward, L is just mad they aren't Kira and doesn't apologise, and doesn't want to continue. I do think this reaction is even fair enough from Light - I think I'd act similarly. Remember, Light as 0 memories of being Kira too, and at this point in the arc, is entirely convinced that he isn't. So he's just an innocent man experiencing this in his eyes.
What about the second instance? Where Light punches L after L tells him that Light looks like a mass murderer? Well...yeah, not much else to say here. What I will say though, is that L previously calls Light 'his only friend' - something even Kira Light seems to fall for, so Yotsuba Light would likely believe it too. And unlike Kira Light, Yotsuba Light has no nefarious plans with this in mind. And when Yotsuba Light genuinely asks L to look into his eyes, L says his 'only friend' looks like a mass murderer. Yeah, I believe all of Light's fights are fair enough. This isn't really a fight, but it would've been if it hadn't stopped - besides, both times Light calms down right after. Hell, after the first one, Light becomes more determined to find the new Kira, so tracks down Yotsuba - and even tells L after 'you ready to get to work now?' - he tries to prove L wrong, that Kira will be impossible to find, and then once doing so, immediately tells L. He's proving L wrong that Kira will be impossible to find, so Light's fight isn't just because L accuses him. It's because L wants to give up on the case. Given Light only fights L once, and punches him another time, I believe these are just heating up periods, because Light doesn't do that again and both times are...fair enough, to be honest. L is a massive prick here.
Hero by Proxy
Yeah, this one doesn't really hold much weight. Not only does Light get a clear decision of whether or not to help L with the investigation, but he himself makes several plans with L, speeds up the investigation when Misa is endangered, and stops L from letting innocent people die. A 'hero by proxy', who is only a hero because he's being forced to, would likely just go along with L's plans. L has also traumatised Light, leaving him in confinement and making him think his dad was gonna shoot him - it'd be reasonable for Light not to help L or the task force. Hell, by the end of the arc Light even contemplates whether he is Kira himself - a hero by proxy would both not do this, and not add ideas into L's plan to catch Kira after. But Light does. Light himself is the one that catches Yotsuba out in the first place, without L's help - I don't really understand how this is an argument against Yotsuba Light. Yeah, you could argue that he's forced to be handcuffed to L at all times, but Light is very active in the investigation and in fact does the most alongside Matsuda to catching Higuchi - why would he do all of this if merely forced? L doesn't tell him to. L even says he can't be bothered with the investigation anymore. This is one of the weaker arguments against Yotsuba Light for me in particular.
Moral Agency
Ok, this is the big one. The biggest argument against Yotsuba Light and why he didn't count for NPG or PG in the first place. However, I don't think this holds up. Why? Well, first of all, Light has a clear understanding of right and wrong. That's why he goes against L in the first place multiple times - and while Kira Light usually has nefarious monologues while acting, or even smirks behind people's backs, Yotsuba Light showcases none of this. There are 0 inner monologues which indicate he is acting. There are some interesting ones though, which I will get into soon - but none indicate Light is acting. Light himself even refuses to manipulate Misa due to his own moral code for women - he knows what right and wrong is. He even tells Soichiro later on not to be naive - if Light had moral agency issues, and didn't truly understand right and wrong, or was merely acting, why wouldn't he go along with Soichiro here? He clearly goes by his dads ideals for the most part - if he didn't understand right and wrong, it would be reasonable to assume that Light would just go along with his father, because his father being right is all he's known all his life and his father is who he follows, and if he was playing up his own goodness, this would seem even more to be the case - but the fact is he doesn't.
As for not understanding Kira's actions due to his impaired agency, this also isn't true. Yotsuba Light knows what Kira's end goal is - hell, he's even able to tell the difference between both Kira's, and thinks that if he was Kira, he'd be more like the original - this already shows an understanding of right and wrong. How on earth would Light not understand right and wrong, and yet be able both realise the difference between Higuchi and himself (unknowingly), and prefer his own actions as Kira? It doesn't make any sense. Furthermore, the fact Light doesn't think of himself as Kira is ultimately fair enough - Light has ZERO memory of being Kira. All of his memory has been altered, and L's theory is coming from a guy who admits he wants Light to be Kira, and who has put Light under severe stress already. Kira is also the most wanted criminal in the world, and is a mass murderer - why does Light not thinking he's Kira matter? Nobody would! Imagine being in that situation! Even if you think it does matter, later on, as said previously, his final reflection is acknowledging that he might be Kira - so he subverts this anyway. This is more than I think most people would do! As for Light thinking he wouldn't be Kira because he doesn't think he'd 'kill people to benefit the world', this is both what most people would think, and it is also not entirely unreasonable. Put away your pitchforks and hear me out here - Light killed 2 people 'accidentally' (I say accidentally because he was clearly unaware that the notebook worked the first time, and the second time was trying to convince himself it didn't work) before becoming Kira and using the notebook. Even after this, he almost throws it away - but keeps it because he thinks he can change the world with it. The question I have here is - what if Light hadn't accidentally killed 2 people? He almost throws it away anyway, and this is a huge factor into his transformation as Kira, as he only even tests the notebook out because he thinks it wouldn't work and was bored, even briefly going 'wait - would this make me a murderer?' beforehand. Light in chapter 1 is clearly not very happy about being a murderer - but he's already killed 2 people by this point, and Light's own pride and perfectionism can't allow himself to be evil, and Light's childish beliefs about good and evil would make him so if there wasn't an end goal. Because murder is evil. Light essentially falls into the sunk cost fallacy here - so, my question is - is Light's claim unreasonable in the Yotsuba Arc? We know Light ultimately does, but - would he have done it in most other circumstances? If he hadn't accidentally killed 2 people? It's an interesting question, and yet another reason why I don't think Light's moral agency issues don't hold up. While I wouldn't think he'd have these issues anyway, Light's claims aren't even entirely unreasonable here - we'll ultimately never know how Light would've turned out without killing those first 2, but given how he acts in this arc, as well as in chapter 1, I actually don't know if he'd have become Kira or not. But even if he would, I don't think his moral agency issues hold up - he shows understanding of right and wrong multiple times, acknowledges he may be Kira by the end and even him thinking he wasn't Kira previously is a normal stance most would take.
Easy to Corrupt
Alright, I've saved this until last since it's the final remaining issue that's been discussed on the IA discord - and I don't really agree with it. As stated above, Light has already killed 2 people before he realises the notebook works, so falls into the sunk cost fallacy - Light is in an extreme circumstance here, where he has a magical notebook that can kill people, which he doesn't believe is real, and then writes down a name of a criminal, thinking it's fake - and then once that criminal dies, he goes outside, trying to convince himself it's not real, before using it again and realising it is. Even after this, Light almost throws it away after. Notice how much goes wrong here? I don't think Light is necessarily 'easy' to corrupt - of course, this is debateable, as is his character in general, but look at him in this arc - Light even refuses to be the new L, doesn't allow himself to use Misa despite it benefitting him, has been placed under severe trauma and yet remains heroic and willing to save lives, doing everything he can to do so, and when he does finally get the notebook back, he screams in horror. We know this is unique, because Misa doesn't scream at all. One could argue that Misa simply had less memories than Light - but Light's scream goes on for a while and is extremely loud. He seems genuinely horrified here. Misa does not have that much less memories than Light - if this were only because Light is regaining a lot of memories, Misa would at least scream a tiny bit. But she doesn't. I think this scream is intentionally indicative of Yotsuba Light being horrified that he is Kira, before Kira Light fully takes over again. It's such a shock to him - and this is the moment where Light Yagami truly dies. Chapter 107 was Kira's death. This is Light Yagami's. This is Yotsuba Light's ultimate defeat. It's no coincidence that the only other time Light screams in a similar manner is his defeat as Kira. These are both of Light's main defeats - the defeat of the innocent Light, and the defeat of the guilty Light.
As for the 'similar ideals' argument - I think people arguing this don't include enough context. Light is not saying he agrees with Kira here - Light is simply putting himself into Kira's shoes, because the best detective in the world who has gotten nothing wrong suspects him. He is putting himself into each Kira's shoes (since he knows there was another Kira), and ultimately decides that his ideals align more with the original Kira. Light doesn't know his own plans as Kira - all Light knows, is that the original Kira doesn't kill those who didn't commit crime without evil intent or who commited crimes in self defence, but kills all the 'deserving criminals'. Most people would align more with the original Kira than the new Kira here. This isn't unreasonable. Light also has no idea of his plans for immoral people - Kira Light specifically makes sure to differentiate these kills so the task force would be unaware of them. People seem to forget this. Light isn't saying he agrees with Kira here - he's saying that if he was Kira, he'd probably act like the original one - at least, compared to Higuchi. But he doesn't even know the extent of the original Kira's plans. Yotsuba Light doesn't even agree with the original Kira here - he is simply putting himself in the original Kira's shoes, and saying that if he was Kira, he'd act like the original, only killing those who deserve it. And yet, Light doesn't even agree with the original Kira anyway, because he doesn't know enough. So yeah, I don't think this really holds up either.
And we're done with the false mitigating factors! Surely Yotsuba Light is pure good right! Well, not quite...
What Actually Prevents Him From Being Pure Good?
Alright, finally. After all this, what actually prevents Light? Well...
Prone to Corruption
Yeah, despite the fact I don't think Light is necessarily 'easy' to corrupt, he is absolutely prone to it - and we do see it over the course of the story, as Light rapidly becomes more and more evil as time goes on, with some people even thinking he's pure evil by the end. Even if you don't think so - the truth is Light is extremely evil, especially by chapter 107 - so ultimately, we know that this once kind and good man who had the potential to be PG also had the potential to be a crazy mass murderer. Despite Yotsuba Light not really having...any actual faults, his Kira-self disqualifies him from PG. No matter how much it took for Light to get there in chapter 1, the reality is he becomes Kira, a crazy mass murderer, so we know he is prone to corruption.
While Light as Kira is arguably PE (I don't necessarily agree but that's besides the point), I don't think this disqualifies his Yotsuba self from NPG either, though - Yotsuba Light is essentially a different path Light could've taken. This is who Light would have likely been without the Death Note - and it fits in with Ohba's words after either, saying Light would've become 'one of the greatest detectives the world had ever seen alongside L' - and given Light isn't even easy to corrupt, as discussed previously, and a lot goes into his corruption in chapter 1, I do think his Yotsuba self can count here. This is what Light would have been without the Death Note. And that is how I believe we should categorise him.
But yeah. Light can't be PG, because we do of course know that he's prone to corruption. While potentially minor, and not a fault of Yotsuba Light himself - he still gets corrupted, so doesn't count for PG.
Verdict
Woo! That took ages! Thank you to the people who made Light's NPE proposal, as I based my proposal structure off these guys, due to believing Yotsuba Light has a similar amount of false mitigating factors. I'm quite proud of this, and I would be delighted if I can get the first NPG/PE crossover on this wiki! Which...doesn't sound right. Light himself is a quite unique character though. If anyone deserves a unique title like this, it's him. So, with all that being said...
Yes, I do believe Yotsuba Light can qualify as NPG. Most of his potential 'mitigating factors' are not really true, or are entirely reasonable, and he does quite easily pass the admirable standard in this arc due to saving 9-13 lives with the least resources in the arc - however, he is ultimately prone to corruption, as proven in the rest of the manga. But, what do you guys think? Do you think he can count? This is quite a big piece for one of my favourite manga characters of all time, so I'd love to hear your thoughts on this proposal's quality too!
