Hello. Today will be my next Near Pure Good proposal, and it is dedicated to Ty Lee. I'm not sure if she'll fit in here, but I'll give her a chance.
What's the work?
Avatar: The Last Airbender is an American anime-style animated series about a boy named Aang, who is an airbender and a new Avatar.
Who is she?
Ty Lee is a minor character in the animated series Avatar: The Last Airbender. She is a very energetic fourteen-year-old girl from the Fire Nation, a childhood friend of Princess Azula.
Her Good Ranking
What Makes Her Close to Being Pure Good?
Animated series
- From the looks of it, she took care of her six sisters, and even though she left them, it was only to prove her individuality.
- Even when she helped Azula in the fight against the Avatar, she wasn't evil, but just helped her friend out of sincere friendship with her.
- Unlike Mai and Azula, her methods of dealing with enemies were not lethal, because she simply paralyzed enemies without causing them any harm.
- She took a liking to Sokka, saying he was cute.
- She helped Azula organize a romantic dinner, with which the princess wanted to reunite Zuko and Mai.
- Although she knocked out all the guys who fell in love with her, it was justified, and besides, it was completely harmless.
- She gave Azula a couple of tips on how to behave with boys.
- Unlike Azula, she felt sorry for Zuko and the others who were doomed to die.
- She confronted Azula, stunning her and saving Mai from her.
Sequel comics
- She joined the Kyoshi Warriors, and became one of Zuko's main bodyguards.
- She saved Zuko from Azula when she almost attacked him.
- She was happily reunited with her sisters, and although they argued later, it wasn't because of her.
- She and Toph defeated the villains who wanted to set fire to the circus.
- When her sisters rescued her, she hugged them and thanked them for being acrobats like her.
- She rejoined the Kyoshi Warriors, arguing that they were like sisters to her too.
- She was unhappy that her friend Mai was dating another guy in Zuko's absence.
- She and other warriors fought off an attack by Ozai's soldiers on Zuko and his family.
- She and the other warriors fought the Kemurikage to stop them from abducting the children.
- After the heroes chased away Azula's team and freed the abducted children, Ty Lee stood guard.
- It was she who set a trap for Azula and her squad, thereby repelling their attack.
- She and her friends defeated the evil earth magicians and saved Shihan from them.
- She played a very important role in resolving the conflict between magicians and non-magicians in the growing industrial center.
What Prevents Her From Being Pure Good?
- She slightly fails the admirable standard compared to Sokka and Suki, who performed more heroic deeds with similar resources.
- She's a bit mischievous because she and Azula used to make fun of Zuko as kids, and also when she and Azula, Mai, and Zuko trashed Chan's house for kicking them out. Although she later softened a lot in this regard, she still showed no remorse about it. However, she wasn't doing anything overtly dangerous or villainous, so this is minor prevention.
- Sometimes she uses her beauty to seduce guys and make them work for her, but still she doesn't go too far in this.
Admirable Standards
This is one of the issues that I haven't decided on, but I have a few arguments that will help her stand out. To begin with, it's unfair to compare her with Aang, Katara, and Zuko, since they have much more resources, because they have magic that Tai Li doesn't have. At most, I would say that she is slightly inferior to the standard of Suki and Sokka with similar resources, and I'm not sure, because she still stands out in the comics.
Verdict
I'll say a weak yes, but it's up to you. I also kindly ask you to express your opinion on whether she admirable meets the standards.
