Hello. Today will be my next offer for the status of an NPG, and it is dedicated to Iden Versio.
What's the work?
Star Wars: Battlefront II (2017) is a shooter video game based on the Star Wars universe, developed by EA DICE. Unlike the previous installment, this game features a story-driven campaign, with our candidate as the main character.
Who is Iden Versio? What did she do?
Iden Versio is the protagonist of this video game. She is a human woman, the daughter of an admiral of the Galactic Empire and an artist who had a distinguished career in the Imperial military during the Galactic Civil War.
Main campaign
Iden Versio, daughter of Imperial Admiral Garrick Versio, was raised on Vardos. She followed her father into the Empire, graduating with honors from the Imperial Academy on Coruscant. Assigned to the Death Star, she witnessed its destruction of Jedha and the Battle of Scarif. Iden participated in the destruction of Alderaan and the Battle of Yavin, where her fighter was damaged during the Death Star's destruction by Luke Skywalker. She crash-landed on Yavin-4, escaped, and returned to Imperial service after bacta treatment.
Tasked with infiltrating the Rebellion, Iden allowed herself to be captured. She used her droid to escape, warn her comrades, and flee aboard the Corvus, joining Inferno Squad. She participated in the Battle of Endor and witnessed the destruction of the second Death Star. Following Emperor Palpatine's Operation Cinder, Iden assisted her father at the Fondor shipyards, defending against a Rebel attack. She later defied her father's orders to evacuate Gleb, instead rescuing civilians with Del Meeko. Branded traitors, they escaped to the Rebellion, providing crucial intelligence on Operation Cinder. They joined the New Republic, participating in the liberation of Naboo and later confronting Imperial operations on Bespin and Sullust led by her father.
On Bespin, Iden and Del attempted to reach Garrick Versio via Gideon Hask's office but fell into a trap. They destroyed the gas station and refueling Star Destroyers. On Sullust, they sabotaged an Imperial weapons factory. Iden's final confrontation was at the Battle of Jakku. She defended the Corvus and attempted to capture her father's ship, the Ripper. Garrick refused to abandon his doomed vessel, ordering Iden to escape. She evacuated and was found by Del Meeko, learning the war was over. Iden married Del Meeko, and they raised their daughter, Zay.
Resurrection
Iden and Zay, while training on fighter planes, receive a message from Shriv Suurgav. He reports on rumors regarding the Project related to the disappearance of people. Shreve discovers the abandoned Corvus ship on Pillio, where Eden's husband, Del Meeko, was staying.
On Athulla, where Del had flown before Pillio, they learn about the abduction of families by Jinata Security. The frigate Opportunity, commanded by Leema Kai, attacks them. Iden and Zay destroy his escort and disable the frigate. After a fight with Kai, who dies, the "Opportunity" gives up. It turns out that the Project is headed by Gleb from Jinata Security on Vardos. On Iden's home planet, Vardos, they encounter Gideon Hask. He reveals that the Project is the creation of the army of the First Order from abducted children. Hask confesses to killing Del and threatens Zay. He destroys the Corvus, but Iden and Shriv survive thanks to the intervention of a Jinata Security officer.
Iden, Zay, and Shriv use escape pods to infiltrate Husk's star destroyer Project. They will learn about the First Order's plans to build a dreadnought. Iden decides to destroy the ship's hyperdrive. During the installation of detonators, Hask takes Zay hostage. Iden sacrifices herself to save her daughter. Before she dies, she talks to Zay about the meaning of fighting.
Admirable Standards
It's clear that the Star Wars franchise has high admirable standards, but I believe that Eden meets them, as her actions caused significant damage to the Imperial army. Additionally, she eventually shed most of her anti-heroic traits, despite starting as an Imperial servant. Furthermore, she killed Hask, who was responsible for kidnapping human children to train them as stormtroopers.
What Prevents Her From Being Pure Good?
Although she eventually got rid of most of her villainous and anti-heroic qualities, she still remained somewhat lethal towards her enemies, although they all deserved it, so this is a minor prevention.
Verdict
I would say a weak yes.
