His Good Ranking[]
What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Good?[]
In General[]
- The only characters he has to compete with are Captain America, Iron Man, Spider-Man, and Hulk. Despite this, he still stands out as he played a major role in defeating both main villains (Loki, Galactus, and Kang) in addition to defeating several other villains. While there’s also Black Widow, Hawkeye, Doctor Strange, She Hulk, Captain Marvel, the fantastic four, the x-men, the inhumans, guardians of the galaxy, black panther, etc. Their most admirable acts are really limited to one game. The Fantastic Four and the X-Men aren’t in the second game so they didn’t contribute to stopping Kang; she hulk, Captain marvel, Doctor strange, ant man, wasp, black panther, and the guardians of the galaxy were mainly cameos in the first game so they too didn’t contribute at all in stopping Galactus and Loki from destroying Earth and Asgard; black widow and Hawkeye don’t really contribute in the final battle in the first game and don’t appear in any of the story missions in the second game. Because of this, him, Iron Man, Spider-Man, and Cap are the only five heroes to play major roles consistently in both games.
- While it can be argued that him willingly letting Loki get sucked into the portal with Galactus after destroying his mind control device with Miljnoir is ruthless, he likely wouldn’t have been able to save him in time before the portal closed as it closing very fast and he was very close to it. Plus, it was the only way he could prevent him from potentially mind controlling Galactus again to destroy earth and Asgard. Additionally, given he tried to do this, it can be argued that he deserved it.
Background[]
- It’s implied that he and the rest of the avengers defeated Loki and prevented him from taking over Earth like in The Avengers, thus explaining why he is shown locked up in the raft at the beginning of the game as well as Iron man’s comment in the first level “didn’t we clean up this city?”
- Additionally, it’s also implied that he also stopped Loki from invading Earth like in the first Thor film, as he states “remember this little play thing” when introducing the destroyer in the seventh level, suggesting that Loki had used it before (likely to conquer Earth) and that Thor had fought it.
Lego Marvel Superheroes[]
- In “Bifrosty Reception”, he helped Captain America, Wolverine, and Human Torch defeat Destroyer.
- In “That Sinking Feeling”, he helped Iron Man and Spider-man defeat MODOK.
- In “Magnetic Personality”, he helped Iron Man and Spider-man defeat Magneto.
- Following Doom’s defeat, he attempted to talk Loki out of continuing what he thought was Doom’s “plan”.
- In “The Good, the Bad, and the Hungry”, he (with the help of Hulk) sent Galactus into a portal created by Mr. fantastic with his hammer and later used his hammer to destroy Loki’s mind control device and send Loki into the portal as well. By doing this, not only did he prevent them from destroying Earth and Asgard, but he also saved billions of lives in the process.
Lego Marvel Superheroes 2[]
- In “Avengers World Tour”, he helped Captain America and She-Hulk defeat The Presence.
- Helped Captain Marvel and She-Hulk defeat Swamp Thing.
- In “Surtur-N Doom”, he (with the help of Captain America, Captain Marvel, Jane Foster Thor, and Loki) defeated Surtur and prevented him from destroying Asgard.
- Following Surtur’s defeat, he briefly tried inspiring Loki to become friends again and the importantance of team work.
- In “Red King Revelation”, he helped Captain America, Captain Marvel, and Doctor Strange free Hulk from Red King’s control and later defeat him.
- In “I Sphinx We Have a Problem”, he helped Captain America, Captain Marvel, Doctor Strange, Hulk, and Horus escape from a tomb Loki trapped them in and latter defeat him and the living mummy.
- In “Road to Knowhere”, he helped the rest of the avengers, guardians of the galaxy, and inhumans activate a device to bring Knowhere through a portal that was opened by Doctor Strange. Because of this, they were later able to bring it to chronolopolis and use an electromagnetic pulse to knock out the energy shields that were protecting Kang’s citadel.
- Helped the Guardians of the galaxy, inhumans, and other Avengers face off against Kang’s army while Captain America, Doctor Strange, Captain Marvel, and Star Lord went into Kang’s citadel to confront him.
What Prevents Him From Being Pure Good?[]
- He is somewhat mischievous in both games. For instances, at the end of the first game, when Loki begins his genocide on Earth and Asgard, Thor sarcastically states that if he and Loki were young again, he would have resolved it by giving him Asgard’s equivalent of a wedgie before later remarking that it probably wouldn’t work. This suggests he used to do this a lot to Loki and given the comedic way he says it, it’s likely he has no remorse for it. However, given how it’s implied that Loki also used to pull equally mischievous stunts on him as well it’s likely he did this as pay back or to stop him. Similary, in the second game, he briefly attempts to annoy the hulk both while on Sakaar and Lemuria by rubbing flowers and Milnoir on him a few times respectively. Despite this though, given how harmless these are and how with the former, he is never shown doing this to Loki again as an adult, this isn’t too severe of a prevention.
