This is God's plan. He'll take care of me, always has. He's gonna help me lead you out of these tunnels.
~ Theodore moments before sacrificing himself to save Carol.

Theodore Douglas, better known as T-Dog, is a supporting character in the AMC TV Show The Walking Dead. He was a survivor of the Atlanta Camp, but he was bitten by a walker when the prison got overrun by walkers while the group were staying there.

He was portrayed by IronE Singleton.

His Good Ranking[]

What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Good?[]

  • After the outbreak began, T-Dog went through his neighborhood to make sure the elderly in it were safe.
  • He killed two walkers so Glenn and Rick would be able to get to the store the group was in.
  • Apologizes to Glenn about his negative comment about dead dogs and kittens while he and Rick were trying to cover themselves in walker guts to get through a herd.
  • Despite everything Merle did to him, T-Dog still went to the roof to free him, and after he failed to do so because the keys fell down the sewers, he locked the door to the roof so the walkers wouldn't be able to kill Merle.
  • Along with Rick, Daryl, and Glenn, T-Dog went back to Atlanta to get the weapons that Rick dropped in the city and to rescue Merle.
  • He gave the Natos half of his weapons and gave one their members, Miguel, back to them in order to save Glenn.
  • He gave Edwin a toast for saving the lives of the group.
  • He stopped Daryl from killing Edwin Jenner.
  • He helped in making a grave for Otis.
  • He helped in saving Glenn when he was about to get killed by a walker.
  • Alongside all the other members of the group, he helped in saving Beth from her zombified mother.
  • He saved Lori and Beth when the farm was attacked by walkers.
  • He gave Alex and Oscar advice about how they should burn the bodies that were in their cell.
  • He tried to convince the group to bring Alex and Oscar to their cell, as he sympathized with them.
  • He gave his life to save Carol and allow her to escape from the walkers. This action has a huge impact, as Carol would go onto become one of the most powerful main characters with this death being one of the things that changed her.
  • Despite The Walking Dead's admirable standards, T-Dog stands out due to being the first character to give his life to save another survivor.

What Prevents Him From Being Pure Good?[]

  • When Lori and Beth attempted to go through the forest all by themselves with no weapons or protection, he coldly reprimanded them and said he should leave them to die before deciding to head back to the road where Sophia initially disappeared to wait for the rest of the group to return. However, it's clear that he was just stressed and clearly didn't mean it, so it's a minor prevention.

Trivia[]

  • He wasn't originally supposed to die, but the writers felt his death would be important for Carol's character development, and they were right, as her surviving the encounter and T-Dog dying to save her was the motivation she needed to learn self-defense and eventually grow to become one of the most versatile survivors.
