Tenya Ida, also known as the Turbo Hero: Ingenium is a major protagonist of the My Hero Academia franchise.
He is the chosen class representative, along with Momo Yaoyorozu, of Class 1-A of U.A High School and is training there to become a Pro Hero. He's one of Izuku Midoyria's closest friends.
Tenya's Quirk is called Engine which give him car-like engines in each of his calves, giving him incredible kicking power. Tenya needs to fuel his engines by drinking orange juice.

What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Good?[]
- When he was young he looked up to and aspired to be a Pro Hero like his brother, Tensei, showing a clear admiration and idolizing him. When Tenya opens up about his admiration towards his older brother he joyfully says that he must be a great Pro Hero since he admires him a lot.
- While he did yell at Izuku for muttering, during the Entrance Exam, this was simply to stop him from being a distraction for the other participants.
- When he sees Izuku saving Ochaco from a Giant Robot, he ponders whether heroic acts had a part in the exam all along, then says to himself that even if they weren't on the exam he would have done the same.
- When he is confronted by Katsuki's rude attitude in school, he calms down and politely introduces himself.
- Apologizes to Izuku for his previous treatment during the Entrance Exam and commends him for saving Ochaco for seeing something he was unable to see, explaining that saving others is just as important as helping others.
- Calls Izuku a superior student.
- When he notices Izuku has badly injured his finger, in the Quirk Apprehension Test, he realizes that Izuku has barely trained with his Quirk and asks if he's alright.
- Explains Aizawa's deceptive teachings to Izuku as something to bring out the best in each student.
- As stated by Momo Yaoyorozu, he was the best performer during the Battle Trial, causing him to feel incredible joy and gratitude for her compliments.
- When he's approached by the media about All Might, instead of dismissing or ignoring them, he replies by saying that he's happy to have an impressive role model as a teacher.
- Even though he desperately wanted to be Class Representative of 1-A, rather than voting on himself he gave his vote to Izuku because he sees that he has the right judgment and guts.
- When a siren goes off for evacuation, using his Quirk and Ochaco's Float: Quirk he is able to stop the chaotic evacuation by informing the students that it is the media.
- Upon being nominated by Izuku to be class president, he thanks his friend for offering him the position and vows to fulfill his duties as Class Representative to the best of his abilities.
- When he escapes Kurogiri's warping Quirk, he saves Ochaco and Sato.
- When Thirteen asks him to dash back to U.A to inform the school of the horrible situation he is reluctant to leave his classmates behind, as he considers it disgraceful.
- After his classmates' encouragement, he rushes past Kurogiri and with the help of his classmates manages to escape U.S.J. Where he was able to inform All Might and get some Hero backup which was able to put a stop against the villains' attack.
- When Ochaco is ashamed that she wants to become a Pro Hero for the money, Tenya reassures her saying that becoming a hero for a living is not selfish at all.
- He's genuinely inspired by Ochaco's noble ambition.
- During the Calvary battle, he still remains on good terms with Ochaco and Izuku.
- When he sees Shoto's one-sided fight against Sero, he's horrified and shocked.
- Despite Mei tricking him into advertising her own support items, he was moved by her superb sportsmanship for wanting to fight on equal terms and felt that not using her gadgets would be dishonourable of him.
- Is worried for Ochaco when she is hit by various explosions by Katsuki during their match.
- Checks on Izuku, who was grievously injured, after his match against Shoto and is happy once his surgery is successful.
- When he lost against Shoto, he displays no rage towards him and instead feels angry at himself for not thinking about his opponents tactics, and apologizes to his brother losing.
- Reassures Izuku and says to him that his brother will be fine and apologizes to him for causing him unnecessary concern.
- When Shoto arrives to fight the Hero: Killer, he begs Shoto to stop fighting so neither get hurt.
- Thanks to Izuku and Shoto's help, he starts to realise his mistake of vengeance for his brother and begins to feel regret for what he has done as he is not acting like a Hero should be.
- After he broke free from Stain's Quirk, he saves Shoto from Stain with his Recipro Burst.
- Apologizes to Izuku and Shoto for getting involved in his problems, not wanting them to spill any blood for his sake.
- He played a major role in defeating the hero killer Stain
- He along with Shoto and Izuku are able to put down the Hero: Killer into a state of unconsciousness. Thus, ending his reign of terror among Pro Heroes.
- Apologizes for his un-heroic actions with Izuku saying that he is sorry for overlooking his pain, while he was crying.
- When his left hand is injured he decides to leave it in it's injured state as a reminder of his un-heroic actions during the encounter with Hero Killer; he will only undergo surgery when becomes a True Hero.
- When Denki mentions the Hero Killer, in Class 1-A, Tenya says it's fine because he understands if people find Hero Killer "cool" due to his convictions, despite the torment Stain has caused to his brother and himself.
- He declares his resolve to become a new hero in order to not follow the wrong path, causing Izuku to smile.
- During the Rescue Training Race, when Izuku fell, he is the only one who is worried about him.
- Reprimands Mineta for peeping into the girls' changing room.
- When Tenya hears about Izuku's scary encounter with Tomura in the Shopping Mall, he asks if he's alright.
- When Kota punches Izuku in the crotch, Tenya goes to check on him and admonishes Kota for his actions.
- When Mineta is about to peep on the girls in the hot springs, he tells him to stop his perverted ways.
- While he is against the plan and suggests that they leave Bakugou's rescue to the Pro Heroes, he's angry at them for repeating the same mistake he made in Hosu.
- While he did punch Izuku, it was purely out of frustration at him for not taking his feelings, concerns and worries into consideration. He expresses his worries by saying on how he doesn't want Izuku or any of them with severe injuries. Furthermore, he later apologizes to Izuku for punching him.
- When he learns that none of them are gonna engage combat with the villains, he is cheered up and decides to go with them.
- Reminds the group that if he sees them engage combat, he will not hesitate to stop them.
- When Izuku attempted to save Katsuki, Tenya stops him from making his move and saved his and the rest of the group's lives due to All for One being there.
- He, along with Eijiro, Izuku, Shoto and Momo successfully rescue Bakugou from the hands of the League of Villains.
- Cheered for All Might's victory against All for One.
- As Yuga thought the situation was about to get bad, Tenya saves him from a stray bullet and tells him not to give up. Tenya tells Yuga as long as he's available he will do his best to serve the class, just like his brother. This inspired Yuga to send a beacon to distract the other competitors while Tenya tagged them, unknowingly bringing the rest of Class 1-A to their location and causing all of them to pass.
- When he and Shoto sees Izuku stressed over some troubles, Tenya and Shoto cheers him by using the same words Izuku says to him Hero Agency Internships, causing Izuku to tear up and thanks him for the support.
- Saves Ojiro from Sen's Gyrate: Quirk.
- When Sen got upset at Tenya for interrupting his one vs one fight against Ojiro, he replied saying that his brother would have done the same. He also remembers what Izuku has done when he first met him and says that saving people is more important than defeating the enemy.
- Saves Shoto from Juzo's Quirk: Mudman.
- Helps his classmates to organise a work study to keep them energised for the new term.
- During the Paranormal Liberation War, he evacuated civilians from a city near the hospital.
- He makes sure everyone is safe, so he suggests his teammates to go search for civilians in apartments and senior homes.
- Along with Neijire, he went along to help the Pro Heroes fighting against Tomura.
- He attempts to carry Katsuki away towards safety after being grievously wounded by All for One, while Bakugou was fighting against multiple High-End Noumu, Tenya is shown to be concerned for him about his injuries.
- Saved Nejire from being hit on the ground after she got burned by Dabi.
- Protects Best Jeanist, along with Bakugou, Mirio and Nejire, while Jeanist is restraining Gigantomachia.
- Tried to safely capture Deku alongside her other classmates, worried for his safety and condition after he left U.A.
- While attempting to bring Deku back, he bursts into the air with Bakugo's help and grabs Deku's hand. When Deku tells him to let go, Tenya refuses, telling Deku that sticking your nose into other people's business is what makes a true hero while tears pool in his eyes, echoing the same words Deku had once told him and causing his friend to tear up as well.
- Although he stopped Mineta from running to hug Deku, this was only because he believed that it wasn't their place to step in just yet, as Kota and the fox lady needed to comfort Deku at this point.
- Held Deku's hand as he cried to comfort him.
- When he and the rest of Class 1-A learn that Aoyama is the UA traitor, he tells Present Mic who is hesitant to trust him that they have to let bygones be bygones and help their classmate who is crying in despair by helping a lending hand to him as friends, as it's the only way for them to be equals once again.
- Used his quirk to get Todoroki to Dabi and his family in time, allowing Todoroki to save thousands of people from Dabi going nuclear and self-destructing, essentially playing a key role in Dabi's defeat.
What Prevents Him From Being Pure Good?[]
- He's a bit of a control freak and can be very strict when it comes to enforcing the school's rules. Although, he is never intentionally mean about it, making this a very minor prevention.
