Near Pure Good Hero Wiki

I might not understand your grief. Your rage. Everything that led you here... but I know all about solid bonds!! And my friends don't use each other... because friends don't eat friends.
~ Tamaki standing up to some of Kai Chisaki's Eight Bullets

Tamaki Amajiki is a major supporting character in My Hero Academia.

He is also known by his hero name, Suneater, and is a student in U.A High, Class 3-A, and is part of the Big 3. He is the childhood friend of Mirio Togata.

His Quirk is called Manifest, which grants him the ability to manifest the physical characteristics of anything he's eaten; for example, if he eats fried chicken, he will manifest wings on his back and chicken feet.

He is voiced by Yūto Uemura in the Japanese version of the anime, and by Aaron Dismuke in the English version.

His Good Ranking[]

What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Good?[]

  • Despite his initially low self-esteem of himself, being reserved and very shy, it never reaches the point that he hurts though around him and he even forms a healthy childhood friendship with Mirio and thanks to his words of encouragement from him, becomes skilled enough to be part of UA's Big 3.
  • He often praises Mirio's optimism.
  • He named his Hero name, Suneater, after hearing Mirio's beaming words of encouragement towards him where he said that one day he'll grow a light that will outshine even the sun itself.
  • When Mirio praised Tamaki's resolve to never give up, it inspired him to do the same towards him.
  • He tells Mirio to hold back against Class 1-A, so they won't be frustrated when they are defeated by him.
  • Caught a thug that almost escaped from Fat Gum.
  • Even though he is ashamed for temporarily being unable to use his Quirk after being shot with a quirk-deleter bullet, he thanks Eijiro for protecting him.
  • He, along with Nejire, snapped Mirio out of his saddened state for not being able to save Eri from Overhaul.
  • Joins the mission to save Eri from the Yakuza.
  • Decides to take on three of Overhaul's "Eight Bullets" of the Shie Hassaikai to make up for falling under pressure.
  • Even when the other heroes offered to provide him assistance, he remained resolved in taking all three enemies on his own, since he explains (to Kirishima) that other heroes like Aizawa, would be better needed up ahead.
  • During the battle, he is impressed by the trust the Shie Hassaikai have in each other and comments that while he may not understand their circumstances, he understands and respects the bonds they share with each other.
  • Is victorious against his battle of the Three Eight Bulletes of the Shie Hassaikai.
  • Comments that his enemies' friendship with each other is a powerful thing.
  • Carried Mirio's wounded, unconscious body after his fight against Overhaul.
  • Saves Aizawa's life, when he was about to be stabbed by Hari.
  • Helps Nejire with the beauty contest during the U.A School Festival and wishes her good luck.
  • Assured Mirio that his Quirk will return eventually.
  • Helps search for Humarise trigger bombs to stop Flect Turn’s plan of genocide on Quirk users.
  • Saves two endangered civilians from being attacked by a villain.
  • Helps in evacuating the civilians to the UA barrier, before the final clash between heroes and villains.
  • Overall, he has no corrupting factors.

What Prevents Him From Being Pure Good?[]

  • Despite having no corrupting factors, he fails the admirable standards compared to his childhood friend Mirio, who, alongside Izuku saved Eri from Overhaul, sacrificing his quirk and almost his life.
