TV Game Guy is the overarching protagonist of the Angry Video Game Nerd episode, "Pepsiman (PSI)". He is the same TV Game Guy from the Pepsi-Man PS1 game. Where two decades ago, Pepsi-Man turned his vegetables, his dog, his wife, and even his children into Pepsi, and later spent his entire life tracking him down so he could avenge his entire family. After finally finding the Pepsi-Man, he protected the Nerd from Pepsi-Man, then told the Nerd about Pepsiman's omnicidal plan and helped him stop Pepsi-Man, but he sacrificed himself in the process and allowed the AVGN to kill him to prevent him turning into another Pepsi-Man.

He was portrayed by Mike Butters.

His Good Ranking[]

What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Good?[]

  • He protected the Angry Video Game Nerd from Pepsi-Man since he temporarily stopped Pepsiman by using a Mentos cross.
  • He revealed to the Angry Video Game Nerd that Pepsi-Man is evil and that his plan to turn everything (human and animals) and anything into Pepsi (food or inanimate objects) is omnicide.
  • He saved the Angry Video Game Nerd from Pepsi-Man by killing him with the Freshmaker and also saved the entire universe from Pepsi-Man, who attempted omnicide.
  • He told the Angry Video Game Nerd that he was turning into another Pepsi-Man and that he should kill him to prevent it from happening again.
  • He called the Angry Video Game Nerd an asshole, justifiably, after he shoved him off to his death.
  • His actions are motivated by avenging his entire family, who got killed by Pepsi-Man, making him very noble.
  • He stood out as the admirable standard against the Angry Video Game Nerd and the Nostalgia Critic by having saved the entire universe, being purer in action and intentions than the two of them, successfully avenging his entire family, and lacking any more appearances since he’s a one-shot character that was killed off permanently, making him pass the admirable standards by doing many heroic actions despite having less screen-time than the both of them.

What Prevents Him From Being Pure Good?[]

  • When he protected the AVGN from Pepsi-Man’s Pepsi Beam, he got shot instead, giving him impaired agency since he was affected by a blast that was meant to kill people, created by Pepsi-Man who could turn a universe into Pepsi, his brain being turned into Pepsi, and losing his memories.

Trivia[]

  • He is the only Angry Video Game Nerd character to be Near Pure Good.
  • His original counterpart from the Pepsi-Man (1999) game can’t qualify since he did nothing heroic, unlike Pepsi-Man, who did several good deeds, despite his incompetence.
  • He was originally approved as Inconsistently Admirable due to the series being played for laughs and him being a jerk. However, he is taken seriously despite the series being played for laughs, and him being a jerk was justified since the Angry Video Game Nerd remorselessly shoved him off the pool of orange soda instead of giving him the honorable death he asked for, and was proposed on the Near Pure Good Wiki because of these preventions not holding up and his moral agency issues being his only prevention and was approved.
