Stephen Gevanni (true name: Stephen Loud) is a supporting antagonist in the second part of the anime and manga series, Death Note.
He is a member of the Special Provision for Kira, the SPK, an organization created by Near, the successor of the world's greatest detective, L, to capture a supernatural murderer known as Kira. Gevanni is willing to do anything to help in the investigation, and eventually plays a big part in it by being tasked to stalk one of Kira's followers, suspect of being X-Kira, Teru Mikami.
He was voiced by Hiroki Takahashi in Japanese and by Samuel Vincent in English, who also voiced Edd, from Ed, Edd n Eddy.

What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Good?[]
- He entered the SPK to help stop Kira.
- He takes care of the electronic of the SPK base, putting Near in communication with "L" (Light Yagami) whenever they need to talk.
- Didn't forfeit even after a lot of SPK agents died because of the Death Note.
- When Mello entered the SPK base, he pulled off a gun and pointed it at him to defend Near.
- When Near requested, he started stalking Teru Mikami to gather proof he is X-Kira.
- When he saw Mikami writing down a name in the notebook, right before someone died, he confirmed to Near that Mikami is X-Kira.
- To discover if there was a Shinigami following Mikami, he touched his Death Note, showing that he is completely willing to risk his life to solve the case, as Near warned he could very well die, and even said he could send another agent if he wanted to.
- When Mikami broke his extremely strict routine to go to the bank, Gevanni followed him and discovered he had the Death Note stored in the bank, which revealed the one he was using was actually a fake.
- In the span of one single night, he, with some assistance from Rester, created a perfect copy of the Death Note to trade it with the true one Mikami was hiding. This whole maneuver was crucial to Light's final exposure and defeat.
- He took out a gun to prevent the Task Force members from killing Mikami while he was writing down their names in the "Death Note", as that would ruin Near's plan.
- Along with Rester, he arrested Mikami after he wrote down the SPK and the Task Force members' names in the fake Death Note.
- Continued aiding and working with Near after the Kira case was solved.
- He overall has no corrupting factors.
What Prevents Him From Being Pure Good?[]
- Despite not having any corrupting factors, since everything he did was under Near's orders, he fails the admirable standards to Matsuda and Soichiro Yagami, as they actually took matters into their own hands, separately from L's orders, to infiltrate Yotsuba and stop Misa Amane's killing broadcast.
