- After he and Polly discovered that Hop Pop lost the Calamity Box and caused Anne to run away, they comforted and convinced Hop Pop to make up with Anne, while they were able to reclaim the box. Unlike Anne, they also didn't get mad at him for burying the box behind their backs and quickly forgave him since they understand how much he has been going through following their parents' deaths.

- After Andrias revealed his true nature, he, alongside Anne and the others, began to stand up to him.
- When he was captured by Andrias, who was threatening to kill him, Sprig told Anne and the others not to obey Andrias' demands, knowing that he wouldn't keep his word.

During this, Sprig personally helped make the Toad Army join the rebellion by defeating Beatrix in a cage match, while also letting go of his hatred towards Grime (even though it is justified).
- He, Anne, Polly, Hop Pop and Sasha free Olivia and Yunan from being controlled by mind-controlling collars.

- After discovering Leif's message, Sprig delivered it to Andrias, which made him responsible for Andrias finally redeeming himself and standing up to his father and The Core. He also looks like he feels sorry for Andrias (like Anne) despite the fact that he previously tried to killed him.
- Although he tried to stop Anne from sacrificing her life to destroy The Core for good, he quickly (yet tearfully) allowed her to do this, which later got her revived by the Guardian of the Calamity Gems.
- He said his final farewell to Anne and ultimately accepted the fact that she will leave him for good.
- When he became older, Sprig honored his best friend by recording every creature they encountered.
What Prevents Him From Being Pure Good?[]
- He's too mischievous to count as Pure Good and often makes reckless decisions.
- He's shown to have some need for attention from others, such as Hop Pop, Mrs. Croaker and Mrs. Boonchuy, which often causes him to act somewhat selfish.
- He has moments of being a jerk towards others, including Polly and Hop Pop. A rather notorious example of this was in the episode "The Dinner", where Sprig kept actively going out of his way to antagonize Sasha due to their feud back at Toad Tower, to the point of callously pointing out how she nearly fell to her death, all while never apologizing to her or showing remorse for his behavior.
- He can be very reckless at times to where it almost gets someone killed.
