Sonic the Hedgehog is the titular main protagonist of the anime Sonic the Hedgehog: The Movie.
He is an anthropomorphic, blue hedgehog endowed with super speed who constantly fights the forces of Dr. Robotnik. Together with his best friend Miles "Tails" Prower, Sonic has made it his sworn duty to protect Planet Freedom, the Land of the Sky, and South Island from the evil doctor's machinations.
In Sonic the Hedgehog: The Movie, Sonic was called out to meet his greatest challenge, by orders from the President, to save Planet Freedom from certain destruction. Over the course of his adventure Sonic had to face the fearsome Metal Robotnik, but was later tricked into creating his most powerful opponent to date: Hyper Metal Sonic. In the ensuing battle with his robotic count wwwerpart, Sonic was put in a race against time to not only save the President's daughter, Princess Sara, but also to stop Dr. Robotnik and Hyper Metal Sonic from completely destroying the Land of the Sky.
He was voiced by Martin Burke in the English version, and by Masami Kikuchi in the Japanese version.

What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Good?[]
- He saved Tails and the Old Man Owl when the old man's vehicle was going to crash.
- While it was only a lie, he still tried to save Robotropilis so that Dr. Robotnik wouldn't harm Sara or the President.
- He fought the Metal Robotnik mech.
- He thanked Knuckles after the latter saved him and Tails.
- He stopped Dr. Eggman and Hyper Metal Sonic from destroying the world.
- He tried to save Hyper Metal Sonic from falling into lava.
What Prevents Him From Being Pure Good?[]
- He has several moments of being a arrogant jerk, like when he yelled angrily at Tails to shut up out of impatience or when he interrupted Robotnik while the latter explained to him the gravity of the situation he's in.
