“ | No, no, it's just… what's the point? They're all the same. Some stupid killer stalking some big-breasted girl who can't act who is always running up the stairs when she should be running out the front door. It's insulting. | „ |

Sidney Prescott is the main protagonist of the Scream franchise.
She is the daughter of Maureen Prescott and citzen of Woodsbro. Despite her seemingly normal life, everything would change when serial killers using Halloween costumes and going by the name "Ghostface" started a killing spree in the town. It is later not only revealed they are Sidney's close friend and boyfriend, but also that they are purposefully after her, because of things her mom did in the past.
Despite managing to outsmart, defeat, and kill the first two Ghostface killers, Sidney unfortunately wouldn't be safe for long, as she'd have to face five killers with the same costume and nickname, all with different reasons to commit the killing spree, many of which specifically target her as one of the victims. However, she is able to persevere through all of these life-or-death situation and made sure every single killer met their end.
She is portrayed by Neve Campbell.
Her Good Ranking[]
What Makes Her Close to Being Pure Good?[]
In General[]
- She has proven herself to be one of the most consistently admirable, noble and selfless characters in the series, always managing to take down whatever Ghostface threatens her and her loved ones, and going out of her way to protect others.
- While she had a few jerk moments in the first few installments, she no longer displays such tendencies in 4 or 5, showing she moved past this.
Scream (1996)[]
- She pressured Gale Weathers into telling her about her mother's supposed killer.
- She tried to stop Billy from shooting Randy.
- She protected her father Neil and Gale Weathers from Billy and Stu by fighting them and hiding them.
- She took Stu out with a vase and electrocuted him to death with the TV.
- She shot Billy in the head, preventing him from masterminding a second killing spree.
Scream 2[]
- She apologized to Cotton for her part in having him convicted.
- She was initially going to free Derek before Mickey Altieri manipulated and after Mickey shot Derek, she tried to save him.
- She fought and defeated Nancy Loomis, Billy's mother.
- She killed and made sure Nancy and Mickey were dead.
- She gave the praise for killing the killers to Cotton, who wanted to be famous and take his revenge on the woman who is partly responsible to him being sent to prison for a year due to her proxy involvement in Billy's killing spree in addition to save Sidney, even if he did much less than her.
Scream 3[]
- When a person called her, desperately telling her they killed someone, she urged them to go to the police for help.
- Once a new killer was shown to be lurking around, she reunited with Dewey and Gale, as she realized she isn't safe at the cabin as much as anywhere else.
- She felt remorse for not speaking up to her mother when Billy, Stu and many others demonized her in the past.
- When Roman Bridger, the true mastermind behind Maureen's murder and the Ghostface legacy, captured Dewey and Gale, she went to confront him to save them.
- She called out Roman on how delusional and wrong he is about his supposed FE, pointing out how he has no one to blame but himself for becoming a killer, before getting into a fight with him.
- She fought Roman and left him weakened in the ground, allowing Dewey to finish him off.
- Despite the awful crimes and trauma Roman inflicted upon her, Sidney still showed a degree of sadness upon Dewey finishing him off. This, along with the handgrip they shared prior to Roman's last attempt to kill them, shows that Sidney is still capable of empathy even for one of her biggest enemies.
Scream 4[]
- When she realized Ghostface was back, she went to find the police to get help, and when she saw they're not in the car, she tried to break into Olivia's house forcefully to help her.
- She prevented Jill Roberts from seeing Olivia's brutalized body, as a way to prevent her from suffering any more.
- She "saved" Jill when Ghostface attacked her, knocking him downstairs.
- She was justifiably offended by her publicist's insensitivity of the situation and fired her.
- She "helped" Gale solve the new murders, including analyzing horror movies and how they changed since years ago.
- She was utterly disgusted by her cousin's actions of "remaking" the whole first Stab plot, killing many people, including those close to her, such as her friends or partner, as well as attempting to kill her, all so she will be as popular as Sidney, not caring about how Sidney's "popularity" negatively affected her.
- She and her friends fought and eventually killled Jill in an epic final battle, exposing her for the murders.
- When Jill's plan started working, as she gained fame for being the new Woodsbro survivor, Sidney and the rest of her friends, exposed her for her crimes.
Scream (2022)[]
- She trusted Dewey to protect everyone after the new killing spree started.
- She comforted Gale about Dewey's death.
- She held no ill will towards Billy's biological daughter Samantha Carpenter, as she had nothing to do with what her father did in the past.
- She became more determined than ever to stop Amber Freeman, Dewey's murderer, after she shot Gale and Gale asked her to finish it all for Dewey.
- She ordered anyone who isn't a killer to reveal themselves so they wouldn't get shot.
Scream VI[]
- She went into hiding with her family after the most recent killings, likely to protect them.
What Prevents Her From Being Pure Good?[]
- She has some sadistic moments, such as:
- Taunting Billy and Stu by talking to them on the phone while hiding in the closet, calling Billy a "pansy-assed momma's boy", which understandably enraged him, mocking Stu over his injuries, and stabbing Billy with an umbrella in a Ghostface costume.
- Frightening Nancy by dropping movie sets on her with an axe and using stage lights with thunder sound effects.
- Before she did all of that, she giggled maniacally at her.
- Telling Ghostface (Roman) with a very threatening and creepy whisper that he is dead when he tells her that he has Dewey and Gale hostage.
- Talking to Jill's corpse, telling her that she feels much better.
- Taunting Amber, who is pathetically begging for her life, by asking her if the Stab franchise made her a killer and giving Gale the chance to shoot Amber and they both pretended to act horrified when she got burned.
- While it may be justified given the circumstance, she can be somewhat lethal at times, such as when she shot every door in Stu Macher's old house in the fifth Scream film just to find the killer, uncaring of whether there was anyone behind it.
