Sidney, better known as Sid is the deuteragonist of Blue Sky Studios' Ice Age franchise. He is a ground sloth who is the best friend of Manfred and Diego.
He is voiced by John Leguizamo.

What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Good?[]
In General[]
- Although he's a coward, he never abandons his friends in favor of saving his own life. Moreover, he stays voluntarily and shows courage when the situation requires it.
Ice Age[]
- He thought of the idea to return the baby Roshan to his tribe out of sympathy for his mother's death, being the catalyst of the plot.
- He feeds Roshan watermelon after defeating the dodo birds.
- He rescues Roshan from being eaten by the tiger Zeke.
- He forgives Diego for his betrayal.
Ice Age: The Meltdown[]
- He opened a camp for young animals.
- He lectures Manny that he needs to free himself from the trauma of his family's death to move on to be with Ellie.
- He taught Diego how to swim.
- He gives a group of mini-sloths a lesson about fire control.
- He attempts to save Crash and Eddie from drowning, even if he wasn't successful.
- He saves Scrat from drowning (though Scrat gets angry as he thinks that he got expelled from Heaven).
Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs[]
- He takes in the three T-Rex babies out of sympathy for them and takes care of them, demonstrating his capability of being a father.
- Alongside Manny, Diego and Buck, he participates in defeating Rudy.
Ice Age: Continental Drift[]
- Sid takes his grandmother in after his biological family abandons her with him.
- He carries his grandmother to escape Captain Gutt's ship.
- He talking to the Hyraxs and encouraging them in their own language to fight Captain Gut.
- With the help of Precious the Whale, Sid uses water from the blowhole to defeat the pirates who are attacking the herd off of their ship.
- He orders Precious to save Manny from falling into water.
- He gave his grandmother dentures from shark teeth.
Ice Age: Collision Course[]
- He played a major role in saving the animals from being wiped out by a giant meteorite.
- He was shocked as his grandmother was kidnapped by three flying raptors and then was taken to care by an adult rabbit.
- Tried to get a diamond crystal to Brooke, though he accidentally caused Geotopia's structure to be destroyed.
Ice Age: Adventures of Buck Wild[]
- He goes to find Crash and Eddie when both left their home worrying about their well-being.
- He helps in the fight against Orson's raptors in the Lost World.
What Prevents Him From Being Pure Good?[]
- Given that his whole shtick is being a total dimwit, he has several moments here and there of being incompetent since the very beginning, mostly because he refuses to listen to his friends, which makes him reckless and ends up causing more damages than he fixes, some examples include:
- When Manny states he couldn't even take care of himself yet wanted to take care of Roshan which later resulted in him nearly falling from a great height because he wanted to take a shortcut.
- When he refused to return the baby dinosaurs, which ended up with them hurting and eating children alive even though they later threw them up, as well as destroying Manny's park for Peaches, and with Mama Dino also endangering and nearly killing everyone on her quest to find her children. He also got himself captured by Mama Dino because of refusing to return them which could have got him killed out of ignorance and recklesness.
- When he was ordered to hold Captain Gutt's ship for the herd to steal it, he got distracted by a lotus berry, and even though Diego warned him about the berry's potential of paralyzing him, he ends up eating it.
- He can be an insensitive and obnoxious jerk at times, good examples include being him being an unfaithful mate (something even Manny calls him out for), taking Roshan from Manny without asking which could have involved Diego, bragging about saving Roshan from severe dangers in order to impress two female sloths, singing about mammoths going extinct (which was by far his most insensitive jerkish moment since Manny really thought he was the last one of his kind) or when he participates alongside Manny in belittling Diego for falling in love with poetry.
Trivia[]
- Because the next Ice Age film, Ice Age: Boiling Point, has been confirmed, there's a chance Sid's Near Pure Good status could change.
