He was voiced by Kenta Miyake in the Japanese version and Peter J. Fabiano in the English localisation.
His Good Ranking[]
What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Good?[]
In General/Background[]
- After hearing that his father's had resigned from the force due to corrupt chief prosecutor Excelsius Winner tampering with the evidence of his case, Lang decided to dedicate his life towards becoming a competent police officer so he could repair the damaged reputation that his family suffered and finish his father's work.
- He is very affable towards his men, as when his captain calls his men by numbers of 1,2,3, Lang tells him that all of them are number one so he should give call them all by 1 instead of the usual counting, and he bought a present for one of his subordinates relatives birthday just because he wanted to, and he gets slightly annoyed at Edgeworth when he believes he is slandering his men.
- Despite the very high admirable standard, Lang stands out with his unique acts of heroism and very low screen time compared to other characters.
Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth[]
- He thanks Edgeworth for giving him an opportunity to legally arrest Earnest Amano for tampering with the evidence of the murder his son, Lance Amano, committed and arrested them even after Jacques Portsman (a corrupt prosecutor working with the smuggling ring) attempted to get Ernest and his son cleared of charges.
- He tricks Alba into giving them all access into the office by falsely accusing Franziska as the culprit, which ended up giving Edgeworth the opportunity to reveal him as the leader of the Cohdopian smuggling ring and he apologises to Franziska for having to falsely accuse her.
- He plays a vital role in getting Alba arrested for his murder of Manny Coachen, as he got in contact with the imperial household of Allebahst and got Alba's position as ambassador revoked and along with it, he removed Alba's extraterritorial rights which made it impossible for him to use authority to avoid questioning, eventually ending up with Miles revealing him as the true culprit.
- He, along with Edgeworth, stopped the Cohdopian smuggling ring that Alba led, which saved Zheng Fa and Allebahst from their economical disasters and prevented them from falling further into decay.
Gyakuten Kenji 2[]
- Despite the fact he lost his men to help him with investigations, Lang didn't let his halt his progress and kept working towards his goal as a solo detective.
- He shows great respect towards his own president, as he loses his temper after Kay and Miles insult him as he remembered the president as a fearless man and a capable leader who put his country before himself and he apologises to the two of them for letting his temper get the better of him and asks for forgiveness.
- He plays a big role in Edgeworth figuring out who the mastermind is by getting him vital evidence that his Father owned and kept in a safe.
- After Shelly De Killer flees after Simeon and Kanis's arrests, Lang chases after him in an attempt to stop him.
What Prevents Him From Being Pure Good?[]
- He is a heroic jerk who can be unnecessarily cold towards some people, such as when Edgeworth and Kay said they were trapped in a room and Lang told them to wait till he solved the case and then maybe he will come rescue them while laughing about it. And when Edgeworth and Franziska greeted him, he just spitefully walked off without saying anything due to them being prosecutors.
- He is wrathful, as he hates prosecutors due to the fact that one of them ruined his family's legacy and while he lessens this as the duology goes on, he still has moments of losing his temper and being aggressive.
