Norville "Shaggy" Rogers is the deuteragonist of the Scooby-Doo franchise. He is a member of Mystery Inc and Scooby-Doo's owner and best friend.
From 1969-2009, he was voiced by the late Casey Kasem. In Scooby-Doo on Zombie Island, he was voiced by Billy West. From 1998–2009 and 2017–2020, he was voiced by Scott Innes, who also voiced Scooby-Doo around that time. Since 2010, he has been voiced by Matthew Lillard.

What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Good?[]
- Although he, like Scooby, is very cowardly and constantly runs away from monsters, he is still willing to risk his life in order to save his friends when they are in danger.
- He always helps his friends solve various crimes and catch criminals and although he is not very smart and brave or isn't a fighter like Daphne and Batman, this does not prevent him from effectively resisting criminals.
- He and Scooby saved Daphne, and also defeated Dracula and Frankenstein's Monster, thereby saving their friends from them.
- He and Scooby used the Three Stooges' T. rex robot Tyrone to capture the Gunslinger and Geronimo.
- He and Scooby saved Fred, Daphne, and Velma from crashing into rocks.
- He and Scooby tried to cheer Fred up after Wonder Woman rejected them.
- He and his friends went to the island of the dead to uncover the mystery of the living dead, which at first everyone considered fiction.
- He and his friends exposed Simone, Lena, and Jacques as werecats who sucked the life force out of innocent people, and then he and his friends confronted them.
- He and his friends defeated Simone, Lena and Jacques, thereby preventing numerous murders of innocent people and condemning the souls of their victims to eternal rest.
- He and Scooby defeated the Black Samurai, thus preventing his plan to take over all of Japan.
- He was trying to convince Scooby Doo that the most important thing was what was in his heart, and it didn't matter if he won the costume contest or not.
What Prevents Him From Being Pure Good?[]
- Like Scooby, he is a bit incompetent, as he often cowards and refuses to investigate, much to the annoyance of his friends. Although, when his friends are in danger, he doesn't hesitate to save them, so this is a minor prevention.
