Seok-Woo is the main protagonist of the 2016 thriller film Train to Busan. He is a buisnessman who was caught in the Zombie Outbreak.

He was played by Gong Yoo.

What makes him close to Pure Good?

• During the film, he subverted his corrupting traits, especially his selfishness and learned how to cooperate and care about others to survive.
• He fought through four cars of zombies to help the group.
• He develops a stronger bond with Su-an as the film progresses.
• He guided his group to a further car when the rest of the passengers escorted them there due to paranoia. This was shown to be smart as a little later said passengers were infected and the group were safe.
• He confronted the late Yong-suk for causing In-gil and Sang-hwa to die due to the latter's ignorance.
• He saved Su-an and Seong-kyong from a collapsed train infested with zombies ready to topple them.
• In the final moments of the film, he sacrifices himself to an infected Yong-suk so that his daughter Su-an and Seong-kyong can make it to Busan.
  • He also jumped off the train to avoid the final transformation.

What prevents him from being Pure Good?

• In the beginning of the film, he was shown to have cared little for his daughter due to being a workaholic.
• He was shown to be selfish in some moments as he told his daughter that she should only look after herself. However, he subverted these as the film went on, having been more thoughtful of others and put others before himself.

Trivia

• As of now, he is currently the only Train to Busan Hero to be Near Pure Good.
