Sebastian is the tritagonist of Disney's The Little Mermaid, a major character in its sequel The Little Mermaid II: Return to the Sea, and the tritagonist of its prequel The Little Mermaid: Ariel’s Beginning. He is the "distinguished" court composer for King Triton, and is regularly tasked with watching over his youngest daughter, Princess Ariel and later her daughter, Melody too.
He was voiced by the late Samuel E. Wright.

Background[]
- When King Triton had a lovely life; spending time with his wife; Queen Athena and his daughters, but one day, Queen Athena gets killed by some pirates and King Triton has lost everything, he felt sorry for him.
- During ten years, after the music has been forbidden at the kingdom of Atlantica, he helped King Triton bring order to the kingdom.
- Although he knew music was forbidden, he only created a music club with his band; the Catfish Club Band to play music to revive the old music days.
- After King Triton suspected about Ariel and his daughters going to hear music, he was worried about them.
- When Marina Del Rey sabotaged their music club and King Triton was mad at him, he felt remorse for disobeying him.
- He and Ariel helped his gang escape the kingdom and live their own lives.
- When Ariel found King Triton and Queen Athena’s music box and decided to bring it to her father to remind him who his life with music was amazing and that might convinced him to restore the music back to the kingdom, he agreed on helping her.
- When Marina attempted to kill him, and Ariel and Flounder to prevent losing her job as King Triton’s attaché, he saved them from Marina and her electric eels, although later Ariel sacrificed herself to save him from being crushed by Marina, but later she revived.
- After King Triton brought Ariel back home and restored the music back to the kingdom, he officially became King Triton’s court composer and began a new phase of his life as music was now restored, after ten years.
The Little Mermaid[]
- He was first introduced as King Triton’s most loyal court composer and attaché, especially doing music concerts at the kingdom.
- After discovering Ariel’s human collection and she had a love for humans, he tried to convince her to let it as he didn’t want her father to be mad at him and her.
- When Ariel saw a ship, he tried to convince her to not go there.
- He tried to convince Ariel to live her life at the sea by singing to her Under the Sea.
- When he accidentally revealed Ariel’s love for Prince Eric to King Triton, and King Triton destroyed Ariel’s treasures, he felt sorry for her. Also, he didn’t want to snitch on Ariel, he spilled the beans by accident, and besides, he asked her for forgiveness.
- After Ariel was taking to Ursula by Flotsam and Jetsam and she was about to make a deal to her about becoming a human for three days, he and Flounder tried to stop her, although it was too late.
- After Ariel had become human, he and Flounder helped her getting into the surface and Prince Eric’s castle.
- After seeing Ariel’s sad face, if she goes back to her original life at the sea, he agreed on helping her win Prince Eric’s heart.
- During Ariel’s visit with Prince Eric, he along with Flounder and Scuttle helped Ariel trying to win Prince Eric’s love for her.
- He and some Lagoon Creatures make Ariel and Prince Eric a beautiful love moment by singing Kiss The Girl, and almost succeed on Ariel kissing Eric, but failed, after Flotsam and Jetsam sabotaged the plan.
- When Ariel was heartbroken, when she thought Eric was cheating on her, after seeing a new girl called Vanessa (who was Ursula in disguise), he and Flounder tried to cheer her up.
- While he drops a heavy object on Louie, it was because Chef Louie was trying to kill him, making it self-defense.
- After discovering that Vanessa was actually Ursula in disguise, he went to King Triton to warn him about Ursula.
- He and King Triton came to save Ariel and stop Ursula.
- He and Flounder saved Prince Eric from Ursula’s eels; Flotsam and Jetsam.
- He convinced King Triton to let Ariel be free and live her own life as a human.
- He assisted Ariel and Eric’s wedding and waved goodbye to them as Ariel was about to have a new life with Eric as a human.
The Little Mermaid II[]
- He assisted on Ariel and Eric’s baby girl; Melody’s birthday party, just before it was interrupted by Ursula’s youngest sister; Morgana.
- He guard Melody during the time; Ariel has been separated from her family and the sea for 12 years.
- After, some cruel and rude kids mocked Melody, he reconciled her.
- He tried to stop Melody from leaving her home and going to the sea to find answers about her necklace gift, but it was too late.
- He helped Ariel and Eric trying to find Melody and bringing her back home.
- He and King Triton came to Morgana’s Ice Cave to save Ariel and Melody and stop her.
- He and Ariel saved Eric from Morgana’s two manta-rays; Cloak and Dagger.
- He defeated Cloak and Dagger by tying their tails and trapping them at Morgana’s Ice Cave, just before was about to collapse and getting destroyed.
- After Melody restored the peace and harmony back to land and sea, and now humans and merpeople can be together, he began a new phase of his life.
What Prevents Him From Being Pure Good?[]
- Although he is introduced as a sympathetic crab, there are some moments where he acts arrogant and somewhat of a jerk, especially when he wants music shows to be perfect or when he calls Scuttle "idiot," every time he loses his mind, though this is slightly understandable.
- He is somewhat reluctant in his care for Ariel and later Melody, complaining that he should be composing great music or relaxing instead. However, this is more due to stress than lack of care for either of them, making it a minor prevention.
