Samantha Stevens is the main character of the series Bewitched. A kind witch who lives with her mortal husband Darrin, as well as with her children Tabitha and Adam.

She was portrayed by late Elizabeth Montgomery.

In General[]

Despite the fact that she is a witch, she has a clear moral will, and unlike her relatives, she is very kind to mortals.
She cherishes her family very much, in particular her husband Darrin, even though he is mortal, as well as her parents, children, uncles, aunts and cousins. She also forced them to accept Darrin into their family and respect him, although they most often did not. And although she ran away from Darrin a couple of times, she immediately returned to him after he apologized, showing that she could not live without him.
She does a lot for the benefit of others, and is always ready to help those who need it, even in small things. She also disenchanted people turned into animals/objects in every possible way, relieving them of suffering while in these forms.

Season 1[]

Although she turned Rex Barker into a dog, she only did it so that he wouldn't molest her, and so Darrin wouldn't see it. Then she completely saved Barker's life from wild cats and turned him back into a human.
She helped the boy Marshall Burns, who was overprotected by his mother, gain self-confidence, and eventually participate in baseball competitions.
She and her aunts taught a lesson to Darrin's client, who forced him to make slogans with ugly witches, after which this client had already changed his attitude towards witches and allowed him to draw them beautiful.
She saved Darrin from athlete Marvin Grogan.
She was offended by her father Maurice for vaporizing Darrin, and eventually forced him to return him, after which Maurice became reluctant to respect his son-in-law.
She supported Louise Tate in her pregnancy, saying that her husband Larry would only like it.
She helped her simple friend Gertrude find a good guy in the person of the artist Kermit, after which they got married.
She reformed the spoiled orphaned boy by showing him a real miracle and introducing him to Santa Claus.

She made the ten-year-old sorcerer Merle Brocken treat Darrin with more respect.
She turned Larry's old cottage into a cozy home, and let one couple buy it out.
She helped Naomi's clumsy maid in the household, and then found her a job in which she did a better job.
She saved Darrin from a drunken boxer by stunning him with her magic.
She helped the Leprechaun get back his bag of gold.
She came up with a plan that reconciled Darrin and Larry.

After becoming the Witch Queen, she proved herself to be a benevolent ruler, and even disenchanted many sorcerers who were forcibly turned into animals. And even this position she did not spend as often as her family life.
She and her mother made Darrin a great golfer to quell the pride of his client Joe Baxter.
She helped her mother regain her strength with the help of the feather of the Dodo bird.
Once in the 17th century, she saved Darrin, who was being sentenced to death on charges of witchcraft.
She found a way to please the sorcerer Mondrako and let him keep nanny Elspeth.
She helped Darrin's client Jesse Mortimer believe in a miracle by introducing him to Santa Claus.
She persuaded the ghost of McTavish to get out of their house.
She returned the 5-year-old boy Michael to human form, and even scolded Tabitha for turning him into a dog.
She received the aliens who accidentally came to them well, after which she allowed them to fly home safely.

She helped the talented boy Monroe become a great pianist.
She helped the sorcerer Juke learn how to refuse his mother, and also force her to release Darrin.
She forced the developer, developer Harlan Mossler, not to demolish the children's park, and also not to abandon his order.
She returned the human form to the girl Amy, and even scolded Tabitha for turning her into a butterfly.
She forced her cousin Serena to turn Darrin's client Clio back into a human, even though she didn't like Clio's behavior.
She forced her cousin Serena to turn Darrin's mother back into a human.
She forced a rich man, E.J. Haskell, to fulfill his promise of $10,000 to UNICEF.
She helped her father remember the spell to turn Darrin from a donkey into a human again.

She went to a fairy-tale world to bring her daughter home, and Jack to his own fairy tale.
She introduced Julius Caesar, who had fallen into their time, to Cleopatra, after which she returned them to their time.
She saved Darrin from eternal transformation into a mouse by performing one ritual on him.
She helped her mother-in-law Phyllis reconcile with her husband Frank.
She helped Santa Claus collect all the gifts in their house on time, and then deliver them to everyone.
She helped her mother-in-law stop thinking she was crazy by writing off all the magic she saw as hallucinations from a medication she often took.
She taught the bad leprechaun Tim O'Shanter a lesson so that he would no longer cause problems for Darrin.

Season 7[]

She demonstrated to the new witch queen Hepzibah that mortals can also be charming, after which she changed her mind about them and allowed Samantha to be married to Darrin.
She helped restore the human form to the sorcerer Newton, who was turned into a hot water bottle several centuries ago.
She forced Serena to revive Darrin, whom she turned into a statue.
She agreed to temporarily become a Good Fairy while the real fairy Mary was drunk, and completed her errands.
She was very worried about the problems of her friend Louise Tate, so much so that in the end they switched places in life, but then everything returned to its place.
She forced Serena to turn Darrin from a gorilla into a human again.

She went to a fairy-tale world, where she saved Tabitha from an evil witch, and brought Hansel and Gretel back to this world.
She did not allow the magical cat Ophelia to molest Darrin, and also, for the sake of respect for Louise, Samantha did not allow her to molest Larry either.
She wouldn't let her aunts and mom take Adam away from them, and called her father to help them.
She forced Duchess Pirhana to return Serena's witchcraft powers.
She turned the Charlton boy back into a human, and scolded Tabitha for turning him into a frog.
She helped George Washington, who happened to be in their time, escape court punishment, and then return to his own time.

What Prevents Her From Being Pure Good?[]

She has moments when she shows herself irritable, and even begins using witchcraft to publicly shame her abusers. Although most of the time they bring her down, it's still pretty rude on Samantha's part.
