His Good Ranking[]
What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Good?[]
In General[]
- Unlike Cade Yeager, Sam isn't lethal towards every Decepticon and enemy Human he encounters and refuses to kill unless he has no other option, as he even apologized to the revived Megatron for having killed him.
- Unlike most human characters in the films, he treats the Autobots with genuine respect and care, understanding they are fully sentient and conscious beings and not just mindless machines.
- He constantly risks his life to save others from the Decepticons even though he's scared out of his mind and is just a human being compared to armed mechanical soldiers that tower over him.
Transformers[]
- He offered Mikaela a ride home when he saw her walking alone, which also started off their relationship.

- He takes Bumblebee to the Allspark and then goes with him to Mission City to keep it safe.

- He kept going until the top of the building in spite of being attacked by Blackout and Starscream and even Megatron himself.
- When Megatron offers him survival in exchange for the Allspark he refuses, and is nearly killed when Megatron drops him from the building. Since he didn't know Optimus would save him here, he was fully prepared to die for the greater good, which Optimus commends him for.
- He refuses to use the Allspark to kill Optimus instead using it against Megatron, which killed him and won the Autobots the battle, making Sam directly responsible for their victory.

- He orders Bumblebee to get his parents to safety before proceeding with his mission.
- He is killed by Megatron when running towards Optimus to resurrect him, proving how far he was willing to go, and that he's prepared to die for his allies.
- According to the Primes, he was destined to find the Matrix and save Optimus.

- His first action after being restored to life is to bring back Optimus, making Sam once again directly responsible for the Autobots' victory and The Fallen's demise.

The Last Knight[]
- After the Autobots began to be hunted by the government and Cemetery Wind, he stayed by their side unlike other human allies.
- He was a member of the Order of the Witwiccans which was an organization dedicated to protecting Transformers and peacefully coexisting with them.
- It's heavily implied he died while protecting Optimus during an ambush, meaning he was by the Autobots to the very end and sacrificed his life for them.
What Prevents Him From Being Pure Good?[]
- He has some moments where he can be a jerk such as rudely talking to Bee for not coming home, despite knowing he had important missions with the other Autobots although it was merely playful and sarcastic banter rather than anything negative so it’s a minor prevention.
Trivia[]
- He was originally rejected and approved as Inconsistently Admirable for a while before being reproposed and approved.
- He and Cade are the only Transformers Near Pure Good to be human beings.
