I invoke the code to seek justice through single combat!
~ Sabine Wren
The attack we all anticipated never came. The once invincible Empire had begun to fracture. This small Rebellion had become bold. And with the decisive victory at the Battle of Endor, the Emperor's reign of terror came to an end. After the war, Zeb took Kallus along the secret hyperspace path to the planet Lira San. It was then that Kallus realized he hadn't destroyed the Lasat people, and that they were thriving on this new world. A world where he was welcomed as one of them. Hera fought in the Battle of Endor, as did Commander Rex. By that time, there had been a new member added to the crew of the Ghost. Spectre 7, Jacen Syndulla. Born to fly, just like his mother. And well, we all know what his father was like. As for me, I used to think that Ezra was counting on me to protect Lothal, the planet and the people he cared for so much. But one day, I realized there was more to it. There was something else I was meant to do. Ezra's out there somewhere, and it's time to bring him home.
~ Sabine's narration during the epilogue of Star Wars Rebels.

Sabine Wren, also known by her callsign Spectre 5, is one of the tritagonists of the 2014-2018 animated television series Star Wars Rebels, and the deuteragonist of the 2023 Disney+ series Ahsoka.

Born during the first year of the Clone Wars, Sabine was a human female who followed the Mandalorian creed. Sabine became renowned as a deadly warrior and legendary revolutionary leader during the early rebellion against Darth Sidious' Galactic Empire. Through her artistry she earned the moniker "The Artist" and inspired the symbol of the Alliance to Restore the Republic used during the Galactic Civil War. Furthermore, her ownership and claim over the ancient Darksaber made Sabine a symbol of hope to the people of Mandalore who sought to free their world from the oppression of the Empire.

Whilst she was successful in using the blade to unite the Mandalorian people, Sabine decided to pass ownership of the blade onto Lady Bo-Katan Kryze, believing Kryze to be a more capable leader then herself. After the Galactic Civil War, Sabine and former Jedi Ahsoka Tano ventured into the Unknown Regions in the hopes of finding Ezra Bridger, who had stranded himself in the unexplored region of the galaxy to ensure victory during the Liberation of Lothal.

She is voiced by Tiya Sircar in Star Wars Rebels. She is portrayed by Natasha Liu Bordizzo in the Ahsoka series.

Her Good Ranking[]

What Makes Her Close to Being Pure Good?[]

In General/Background[]

  • Even though she did do some service for the Galactic Empire, she wasn't aware of its corruption and was enlisted because her parents made her do so, and she atones for her actions by defecting from the Galactic Empire after seeing that her weapon was going to kill Mandalorian people.
  • She rejected any offer to rejoin the Empire and when her family was disappointed over it, she tried to cheer them up.
  • Despite Star Wars' massive admirable standards, Sabine stands out for defeating both Gar and Tiber Saxon, ending their tyranny on Mandalore and uniting the Mandalorian tribes together, especially when she destroyed that Duchess weapon that was going to annihilate her people. She also has some other personal heroic acts such as encouraging Ezra to become a better person and continuing to look out for him.
  • She is much more honorable and merciful than most of the other Mandalorians despite coming from a group of people that enjoy killing, best shown when she spared Gar Saxon instead of killing him.

Season 1[]

  • She helps Hera get supplies to repair the Phantom.
  • She goes along with Ezra's mission to rescue Kanan despite Hera ordering them not to proceed for their safety, and they convince Hera to follow along as well.

Season 2[]

  • She reconciled with her old friend Ketsu Onyo.
  • She captures Fenn Rau so that they get a safe passage through Concord Dawn.
    • While she challenged Rau to a duel and destroyed his fleet, this was understandable as earlier on Rau had attacked the Rebel squadron and gravely injured Hera. She eventually listened to Kanan to let go of her vengeful feelings as well.

Season 3[]

  • She infiltrates an Imperial Academy to recruit defecting cadets Wedge Antilles, Hobbie Klivian and Rake Gahree to the Rebellion although Rake didn't survive.
    • This makes her indirectly responsible for Wedge's heroism in the future.
  • She convinced Fenn Rau to officially join the Rebellion after they saved his life from Gar Saxon.
  • She is visibly upset and disgusted after realizing that the Empire is intending to use the weapon she made on her own people during her Darksaber training.
  • She removes Gar Saxon from his role as Viceroy on Mandalore and reconciles with her family.

Season 4[]

  • She stops Gar Saxon's brother Tiber from using the weapon to destroy Mandalorians and listens to Bo-Katan Kryze to destroy the weapon instead of using it on the Empire. Afterwards, she makes Bo-Katan the leader of all Mandalorians in her place, reuniting them under her rule (although Bo-Katan was far from a good leader to her people, Sabine didn't know that, so this does not lessen her admirability over the act)
  • She stops Zeb from beating Rukh to death.
  • She helps Ezra get into and out of the Lothal temple.
  • She mourns for Ezra's disappearance and takes care of his home for the next 9 years.
Ahsoka[]
  • She defends Ezra's home from Shin Hati.
  • She agrees to go with Ahsoka in her mission to find Ezra.
  • She mourns her family's deaths and vows to avenge them as well.
  • She tries to prevent Baylan Skoll and Shin Hati from getting the Eye of Sion, but gives it to them when she had no other choice.
  • She happily reunites with Ezra and defends him and his Notis from Imperial remnant Stormtroopers.
  • She tries to prevent Thrawn's escape, but when she failed, she and Ahsoka make a new home for themselves in Peridea.

What Prevents Her From Being Pure Good?[]

  • Come the Ahsoka series, she acted much more arrogant, wrathful and bratty than in her appearances in Rebels, such as butting heads with Ahsoka due to their differences, berating Huyang for giving her some advice, arrogantly refusing training due to seemingly being good enough, and telling Jai Kell to get lost when he asks her to go back to the Lothal ceremony. Such behavior was so terrible that Ahsoka almost ended their friendship. However, this behavior still isn't that consistent since she is still capable of being completely affable to Ezra, showing that she does has her limits for her jerkish moments.
  • Despite reforming away from her career as a bounty hunter and overall being much more honorable than most Mandalorians, she still has a lethal streak since she tends to take enjoyment out of blowing up or shooting down stormtroopers.
  • She sort of displays a mischievous side too such as when she drew pictures of Ezra and Zeb beating each other up on the Ghost or spray painting on Ezra's helmets without his consent, but this is all played for laughs.
  • She is a control freak who tends to take matters in her own hands in missions and bickers with other people if they disagree with her methods.

Trivia[]

  • She is one of two members of the Ghost Crew, alongside Ezra Bridger, to be Near Pure Good.
    • With the exception of Satine Kryze, she is also the only Mandalorian to not be Inconsistently Admirable or lower as most of this tribe is infamous with their anti-heroic qualities.
