Virginia "Pepper" Potts, also known as Rescue, is a major character of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
She is introduced as Iron Man's assistant, but they gradually become involved and eventually get married and have a daughter, Morgan Stark, to then become the CEO of Tony's Stark Industries. Pepper's involvement in Tony's life helped him pursue the commitments of a hero, to which she made Iron Man save the entire world from Thanos and his army.
She is portrayed by Gwyneth Paltrow.
Her Good Ranking[]
What Makes Her Close to Being Pure Good?[]
In General[]
- Despite the MCU's massively high admirable standards, Pepper Potts stood out for her pivotal role she served in the Iron Man trilogy with her consistently saving his life from conglamerates and ultimately putting an end to the Extremis by killing Aldrich Killian. She also lacked the superpowers the Avengers have and Iron Man had the Infinity Stones, while Potts is just a normal human with slightly less wealth than Iron Man which she used to support him in his journey.
- She was always by Tony's side, supporting him for years as his assistant and acting as the only person that kept Tony sane when he was experiencing PTSD from the Battle of New York.
Iron Man[]
- She provided Christine with a car that would take her anywhere she needed to go and stood her ground when she condescended to her.
- She protected Tony Stark and the other Stark Industries employees by actively trying to stop Obadiah Stane when he was on a rampage.
- She helps Tony defeat Stane by overloading the Arc Reactor at Tony's behest.
Iron Man 2[]
- She saves Tony at his car race from getting murdered by Whiplash, putting herself in severe danger just to get him his suit.
Iron Man 3[]
- Becoming CEO of Stark Industries, she refused to invest in Extremis due to seeing it as something that could be weaponizable. This decision and concern turned out to be the right one.
- Despite her relationship with Tony's ex Maya Hansen, she proceeded her to safety from the Stark Mansion's destruction and later allowed her explanation about Aldrich Killian's ties to the Mandarin, when in reality it was the latter who worked for the former.
- Even though her and Tony broke up after that, it's only because she thought Tony was risking his life and wasting valuable time and money building armors and actively putting himself in danger, which was already showcased about Stark's decision to publicize his home address to the Mandarin (endangering himself and her at the same time), making her decide to move to another place.
- While she did kill Aldrich Killian with one of Tony's suits, it was done out of self-defense, and that Aldrich killed his own assistant, he would be willing to kill her as well; moreso even, she was under the influence of Extermis and was shocked at her own lethality after snapping out of it.
Avengers: Infinity War[]
- She demands Tony get off of Thanos' Q-Ship for his own safety (in vain).
Avengers: Endgame[]
- She's very caring towards Tony and their daughter.
- She encouraged Tony to pursue his theory of time travel, so that Tony can have a chance to bring back Peter and half of the universe, who were disintegrated by Thanos' Infinity Gauntlet snap.
- She helped Tony and the Avengers with Thanos and his army, by saving Peter (who carried the completed Nano Gauntlet) from falling before throwing him onto Valkyrie's horse, and distracting Thanos from the Nano Gauntlet with Shuri and Wasp.
- Just before Tony succumbed to his gamma-radiation injuries, she comforted and told him that they will all be okay and that he can rest now, before kissing him, tearfully resting on his head in respect for his death, and attending his funeral.
- She participated in charities related to the homeless people affected by the Snap and the Blip.
What Prevents Her From Being Pure Good?[]
- She is slightly arrogant and snarky in general.
Trivia[]
- She is the first Near Pure Good to debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, since Iron Man was the very first installment in the franchise. She is the only Near Pure Good in the Iron Man trilogy.
- Pepper Potts started off as Near Pure Good but then was cut because it was thought her best acts amounted to only being a kind girlfriend to Tony Stark. However, after some talks were brought up, she was subsequently re-proposed and re-approved here.
- Although she is NPG right now, there is a chance she can be a full-on PG in the upcoming Armor Wars film considering she appears to be moving on from her current corrupting traits.
- She could be very easily be in PG now because her corrupting factors are too weak for a prevention.
