Princess Hilda, I... I just wanted to save you from all this-you, who've worried endlessly about the fate of Lorule. Please, Princess Hilda, let's do the right thing. Lorule may be doomed, but at least our kingdom won't be condemned for stealing their Triforce.
~ Ravio to Hilda.

Ravio is the deuteragonist of the 2013 action-adventure game The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds.

He is a cowardly merchant who rents out items and weapons to help Link on his quest to defeat the evil sorcerer, Yuga. However, Ravio is secretly Link's Lorulean counterpart, who fled his own kingdom in search of a hero to stop Yuga and save his former ruler, Princess Hilda, from her mad obsession with the Triforce.

His Good Ranking[]

What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Good?[]

  • In his diary, it is stated that he attempted to discourage Hilda from attempting to steal Hyrule's Triforce and fled when he failed.
  • He is loyal to Hilda.
  • When he finds Link unconscious, he takes him to a vacant house to tend to him, not knowing that said house was his.
  • He gives Link his bracelet as rent, inadvertently foiling Yuga's plans as said bracelet allows Link from imprisonment in a wall.
  • He allows Link to borrow his Bow and Arrows for free, and will only take it back if Link dies along the way.
  • After Link completes the Eastern Palace, he rents him various items.
    • Additionally, after Link gets the Master Sword, he allows him to buy said items and gives him 50% off his first purchase.
  • He stops Hilda from attacking Link and Zelda after Yuga's death and convinces her to redeem herself, stating that her actions mimic the reason their world's Triforce was destroyed in the first place, and that taking Hyrule's Triforce would bring out the worst in Lorule.
    • It's also worth noting that if Hilda had succeeded, Hyrule would have been doomed to the same fate as Lorule, and (as nothing indicates she would have simply wished for the restoration of Lorule's Triforce as she just thought that having Hyrule's would solve their problems altogether) she would have indirectly committed omnicide against the Hyruleans.
  • He genuinely bids Link farewell, calling him a "live genuine hero" as a compliment.

What Prevents Him From Being Pure Good?[]

  • He suffers from unsubverted cowardice, as it is stated that he was too scared to attempt to stop Hilda and Yuga himself and so travelled to Hyrule to find someone else who could do the job.
  • He can be greedy at times, as he charges high prices for his items, (some of which are necessary to complete the game) and if Link approaches his bag, he tells him not to touch it, saying that it contains "something more important than life itself" when it is really a bunch of rupees.
