~ Rango giving hope to the town of Dirt. |
Rango is the eponymous titular main protagonist of the 2011 Nickelodeon animated film of the same name. He is a quirky but lonely chameleon who, after being stranded in the desert town of Dirt following him accidentally being abandoned by his owners, goes on a journey of self-discovery as he looks out for his new home once he becomes the town's new sheriff following him telling a fabricated heroic story.
He is voiced by Johnny Depp.
His Good Ranking[]
What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Good?[]
- Although he did take away the life of the Hawk that once loomed over Dirt, it was purely out of self-defense rather than desire for revenge or anger. Actively and willingly helping to find water and bring it to the town of Dirt in the midst of a drought that left the civilians in danger of dying of dehydration.
- Distracting the citizens that were fighting him, Beans, and the Bird for the water, playing a part in them winning the battle.
- Returning to Dirt after initially leaving once his lies were exposed to save the town from Tortoise John and Rattlesnake Jake.
- Saving Beans from Jake.
- Scaring Jake with a fake hawk in an attempt to trick the snake into wasting all his bullets.
- When John trapped Rango with Beans in the Water Jail, Rango came up with a plan to break the glass to save both of them and defeat John and Jake whilst returning water to the civilians of Dirt.
- Although during the final battle, he has a lethal moment towards Tortoise John when he prepared to willingly shoot the mayor and sell him out to be killed by Rattlesnake Jake, this is %100 justified because John completely deserved due to being the most heinous villain in the movie.
- While he starts off the film being arrogant (which is primarily showcased by him lying to the rest of the town until being outed as a fraud by Jake), he subverts this corrupting quality by the end of the film.
What Prevents Him From Being Pure Good?[]
- He is lethal as he was perfectly willing to shoot Rattlesnake Jake and allowed him to drag Tortoise John to his presumed death without any remorse (although concidering everything Tortoise John did throughout the entire film, it's hard to say this wasn't warrented).
