Randall "Randy" Cunningham/The Ninja is the titular main protagonist of Randy Cunningham: 9th Grade Ninja. He is a freshman and the current Norrisville Ninja at Norrisville High.
He was voiced by Ben Schwartz. Ben Schwartz also voiced Sonic The Hedgehog from the Paramount Movies as well as Dewey Duck from the Ducktales Reboot.

What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Good?[]
- He regularly defeats stank monsters created by The Sorcerer and giant robots created by McFist and Viceroy.
- Regularly saves people including jerks like his bully Bash, Flute Girl, and Hedi from getting killed by stank students (who are monsters), robots, and from other threats that would kill them.
- He rarely holds a grudge on his jerky classmates.
- He saved his archenemy McFist and his assistant Viceroy several times from their own evil schemes that backfire and result in disasters.
- He told Mrs. Wiegnerman that Hedi wasn’t responsible for letting Howard and him got to a late night movie, despite Hedi never getting his name right and treating both him and her brother Howard bad.
- Saved Viceroy's pet Nickolas despite Viceroy helping McFist and sending dangerous robots after him.
- Teamed up with Viceroy to defeat Jerry Driscoll (his science teacher’s husband) from using his Doomsday Device to destroy the world and the universe. He also apologizes to Mrs. Driscoll that he didn't want to kill him, but he was too dangerous.
- While he did lie about being brave from the Haunted House, he wasn't trying to humiliates Howard and trying to impress his crush Theresa and Debbie that boys don't get scared. Debbie would of likely made fun of both him and Howard if he admit e was scared.
- After he accidentally mind wiped himself and Howard briefly took his place as The Ninja, he considered that the way Howard was humiliating a robot scorpion (who had a learning chip) was wrong in so many ways, showing he has compassion to everyone.
- While mind wiped the Nomicon said he was pure hearted, despite his flaws.
- Covered for McFist when was turned into a monster. When McFist secretly say I’m this doesn’t change anything, Randy (As The Ninja) told people that McFist would give out free products to everyone for his reputation.
- Teamed up with McFist to escape Scrap City.
- Mind wiped the former ninja Mac Antfee so he can permanently become a good guy.
- Freed all the animals Catfish Booray imprisoner and used the wild animals in various wrong ways.
- Mind wiped Debbie Chang from knowing his identity because she was going to expose him, despite Randy saving her several times.
- Saved Ranginal Bagel from being killed and showed McFist that The Ninja and Ranginal are different people. In additional he earlier attempted to tell Booray that Ranginal isn't the Ninja, but Howard stopped him and made him think McFist and Booray weren't going to be in the same place.
- Sent the Sorceress back to the Land of Shadows because he was in a position where she was going to kill everyone and was irredeemable.
- When he went back in time, he tried to help defeat the Sorcerer but ended up messing things up the future. The First Ninja helped Randy defeat the Sorcerer by putting the Sorcerer in a bottomless pit like he was supposed to and Randy showed the First Ninja that giving up isn’t a true hero.
- Saved his best friend Howard multiple times, despite his friend being a selfish jerk, blaming him for causing problems, and making him abuse his powers which causes problems. He also saved Howard while being under the influence of a Chaos Pearl which contains terrible darkness.
- Randy normally tries to put up with Howard's selfish behavior.
- While he did lie to Howard about forgetting his birthday, this is justified as Randy was just trying not to upset Howard and Howard often forgets or doesn't know when Randy birthday.
- When Neil Apestrong was though to be lost in space when he help Randy save Howard, Randy was more worried about his life than Howard' birthday, showing he respects everyone including animals.
- He tends to take his ninja responsibilities very seriously, even when his enemies McFist and Viceroy don't do something bad.
- Saved the Game Hole from being destroyed and put up with Greg despite the owner being lazy.
- He tried to put up with Julian's strange behavior when he and Howard went to Snow Klahoma. He also did it so Julian can avoid being stanked by the Sorcerer.
- Saved Plop Plop from the possession of the Chaos Pearl.
- Defeated Evil Julian by teaming up with The Ninja's archenemy The Sorcerer and then finally defeating the Sorcerer by getting rid of his Chaos Pearls and reuniting both of them with their human counterparts.
- He often fixes and takes the responsibility of his mistakes after learning from them, unlike Howard.
- While he does get angry with Howard, this is justified because his best friend is proven to be really selfish, self-center jerk who never takes responsibility for his actions (i.e. when Howard starts a problem he mostly pins the blame on Randy, because Randy was involved in it, even thought the blame rightfully Howard's fault).
What Prevents Him From Being Pure Good?[]
- He's often reckless, sometimes selfish (but not as selfish as Howard), and a little lazy which leads to him being mischievous, causing a few/some of the conflicts. But he would often subvert or shed away such factors once he matured throughout the series, but some flaws remained at minimum.
