Pumbaa is a major character in Disney's The Lion King franchise.

He is an anthropomorphic warthog who adopted Simba when he ran from the Pride Lands and raised him and became one of his best friends (alongside Timon).

He was voiced by Ernie Sabella in almost all of his appearances except for the 2019 remake, where he was voiced by Seth Rogen.

What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Good?[]

He was lovable to Timon as he was need company and protection, which he gave him as well as mounted him on his back.
He advised Timon many good ideas for Timon will find the place he is looking for.
He is considered the voice of reason between the two friends and often criticizes Timon's bad behaviors.
He and Timon saved Simba from vultures and revived him with water.
He and Timon raised Simba all on their own. actually Pumbaa doing much more from Timon by that.
He quickly forgave Nala for trying to devour him and tried to kneel to Simba when he heard he was the intended king.
He went back to help Simba reclaim the Pride Lands and tried to convince Timon that they need to help Simba, which he eventually follows Pumbaa after being convinced by Rafiki.
He and Timon create a distraction for the hyenas, allowing Simba and Nala to sneak pass by.
He and Timon help Simba fight off the hyenas. He also freed Zazu from the bone prison he was in alongside Timon and also saved them both from the hyenas.
He and Timon stall the hyenas while Ma and Uncle Max build a trap for the hyenas.
He and Timon watch over Kiara under Simba's orders.
He, along with Timon and Kiara help Simba back to the Pride Lands after being ambushed by Zira and her army of lions.
While he did initially helped Timon to try to keep Simba and Nala from falling in love, he later accepted their relationship.

What Prevents Him From Being Pure Good?[]

He can sometimes get into arguments with Timon. However, given how much of a nice warthog he is to the point of being mostly opinionless, and how Timon tends to be the one to start the arguments in the first place, this is a minor prevention.
He had an insensitive moment when he, Simba and Timon were stargazing, Simba said that someone once told him (referring to his late father Mufasa) that The Great Kings of the Past are watching him and Pumbaa and Timon laughed at his statement, unintentionally hurting Simba's feelings and insulting his father, but he and Timon show remorse for this, making it a minor prevention.
Like Timon, he can be lazy as he is shown to detest work and would rather relax.
