~ Paper Luigi |
Paper Luigi is the taller yet younger brother of Paper Mario and the tritagonist of the Paper Mario series. He's a supporting character in the first two entries, one of the main characters in Super Paper Mario, a minor character in Sticker Star, a supporting character in Color Splash, and a major character in The Origami King.
Just like his brother and mainline counterpart, he was voiced by Charles Martinet.
His Good Ranking[]
What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Good?[]
- In Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, during the final boss, he's one of the voices that all gather due to the Crystal Stars and weaken the power of the Shadow Queen, allowing Peach to temporarily break free and boost Mario's power, helping him save the day.
- Also, during Mario's adventure, Luigi saves Princess Eclair and her kingdom from the villainous Chestnut King.
- In Super Paper Mario, he helps Mario and Tippi escort Nimbi to the Overthere, whom later is revealed to be the final Pure Heart. Later, Luigi helps the heroes defeat Count Bleck, helping in saving all worlds from being destroyed.
- While he assisted both Count Bleck and Dimentio in their attempts to destroy the multiverse and attacked his older twin brother, he was brainwashed and did so against his will so this isnt a prevention.
- In Paper Mario Color Splash, he appears in his kart to drive Mario and Huey up Rainbow Road to Black Bowser's Castle.
- In Paper Mario: The Origami King, he spends most of the game looking for the key to Princess Peach's castle, where the Princess and King Olly lie.
- Overall, he has almost no negative characteristics.
What Prevents Him From Being Pure Good?[]
- He slightly fails the in-story admirable standards to this universe's versions of Mario, Princess Peach and Bowser; Mario has defeated multiple threats throughout the games as he is the protagonist, Peach helped in Shadow Queen's defeat by boosting up Mario using the last of her power and also saved Mimi from falling to her death in Castle Bleck, and Bowser, who played a vital role in stopping King Olly by having Olivia fold up his body to fight the origami king, and also saving O'Chunks in Castle Bleck.
- However, this is a minor prevention as he was willing to help the heroes save the multiverse by defeating Count Bleck.
- He's somewhat incompetent at times, as he constantly has to be saved by his brother throughout The Origami King and continuously fails to find the key to Peach's castle, not knowing he left it in his kart the entire time. This is further supported in The Thousand Year Door, where the partners he works with claim that the adventurous stories he tells Mario are very much exaggerated and he's made various mistakes, such as burning a blooper in lava and crashing someone else's go-kart. This also makes him come across as arrogant to some extent in the later games.
Trivia[]
- This is the only canon counterpart of Luigi that is considered NPG.
- Although this version of Luigi is NPG, both his mainstream and movie counterparts are considered PG, as they have bigger roles than just being a supporting character.
