Officer Earl Devereaux is a major character in the 2009 CGI film Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs and its 2013 sequel Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2.
He is a police officer who makes it his job to protect the citizens of Swallow Falls and his friends while the Foodimals are seemingly aggressive. After the events of the films he becomes the security guard for Flint and Sam's lab SparksWood.
He was voiced by Mr. T in the first film and Terry Crews in the second film.

What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Good?[]
Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs[]
- He became a police officer due to him wanting to keep people safe from threats and dangers despite being the only police officer in Swallow Falls.
- He came to respect Flint for making the town a much better place and asked him if he can make it snow ice cream for Cal's birthday treat.
- When the citizens of Swallow Falls started blaming Flint for causing the food storm, Earl stood up for him saying that it was everyone's fault due to their greedy desires for constant different foods to rain from the sky.
- Although he did slap Flint in the face for his role in the food storm, it was only a minor slap and he apologized for it straight away, with this also being played for comedy.
- He was ecstatic when Cal turned out to not be dead and was just having a food coma after Manny woke him up using a celery.
- He helped the citizens of Swallow Falls evacuate from the food storm by giving them the idea to create boats out of sandwiches which saved a lot of people considering a food avalanche started not long after.
- When Cal fell off his boat, he ran back for him and saved him from the food avalanche, telling him he is not gonna lose him again after thinking he was dead from a food coma.
Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs 2[]
- When Flint arrived back to Swallow Falls and decided to make a lab with Sam, Earl decided to become the security guard for their lab.
- When the group arrived at Swallow Falls, Earl decided to become the protector of the group protecting them from the cheesespider that was chasing them, saving Manny's life in the process.
- He showed concern for Flint when Flint needed to go into his hanging upside down lab.
- When Sam got attacked by a Cheesespider again, Earl came to her aid, being willing to put himself in danger to do so.
- When Sam revealed that she is going to prove the Foodimals are harmless, Earl tells her not to do it to protect her life.
- After Chester attempted to get away, he helped stop him, and told him that "if anyone is going to be keeping folks safe in this town, its him."
What Prevents Him From Being Pure Good?[]
- He fails the admirable standard to Flint and Sam as Flint saved the whole world and stopped Chester V while Sam played a large role in helping Flint stop the FLDSMDFR in the first film and convinced the others that the Foodimals are harmless, making Flint realize that he should save the Foodimals instead of killing them after being shown they are harmless.
