My name is Noriaki Kakyoin! To avenge my friend Avdol and so that the sister of my friend Polnareff may be at peace... You will pay with your life!
~ Kakyoin to J. Geil.

Noriaki Kakyoin is one of the two tritagonists (alongside Jean Pierre Polnareff) of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Part III: Stardust Crusaders.

He is a high schooler that joins Jotaro's group in the quest to destroy DIO as compensation for having acted as DIO's brainwashed pawn. Kakyoin wields the Stand Hierophant Green, to defeat his enemies in various ways.

He was voiced by Kōji Yusa in the video game JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle, Daisuke Hirakawa in the Japanese version of the anime adaptation, and by Kyle Hebert in the English version.

His Good Ranking[]

What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Good?[]

  • Although he did attack Jotaro and a nurse with his Stand, Hierophant Green, he only did it because he was brainwashed by DIO and after he is freed, he deeply apologizes.
  • When Jotaro's mother, Holly, falls ill due to the nature of her Stand, Kakyoin decides to join Jotaro, Joseph, and Avdol on their trip to find and kill DIO to save Holly. He also remarks on how loving and caring she is to Jotaro.
  • When the plane the group is on is attacked by Gray Fly, Kakyoin volunteers to fight him by himself to save the others. He manages to trick and kill Gray Fly so he won't kill anyone else.
  • When Jotaro was being rather vulgar and misogynistic towards two flight attendants during the battle with Gray Fly, Kakyoin apologizes for Jotaro's behavior to the two women.
  • He tried to stop Jotaro, Joseph, and Polnareff from beating a bunch of people up when trying to find ZZ.
  • When Polnareff is attacked by J. Geil and Hol Horse, Kakyoin manages to save him and helps him in killing J. Geil to avenge his sister's as well as Avdol's (presumed) death.
  • While he did elbow Polnareff straight in the face, it was to get him back to his senses and not because he was a jerk.
  • After Steely Dan held Joseph's body hostage with his Stand, The Lovers, Kakyoin, as well as Polnareff, shrink their Stands down to go into Joseph's body and prevent The Lovers from killing Joseph.
  • When Steely Dan threatens the life of a little girl with The Lovers so he can stab Jotaro, Kakyoin saves the girl's life by trapping The Lovers with Hierophant Green, allowing Jotaro to beat Steely Dan to a pulp for everything he's done.
  • When the group is attacked by Arabia Fats, using his Stand the Sun in the desert, Kakyoin notices the spot where Arabia Fats is hiding and as a result, the group is able to defeat him.
  • When Kakyoin discovers that Mannish Boy is the user of the Stand, Death 13, he attempts to warn the rest of the group about his true nature (to no success).
  • After Kakyoin saves the group and defeats Mannish Boy, he doesn't kill or hurt Mannish Boy because he's just a baby and although he does feed him his own poop, it's obvious he deserved it and was a way of teaching him a lesson that didn't involve violence to a baby.
  • When he, Joseph, and Jotaro are forced into playing a video game match against Terence T. D'Arby for the fate of their souls, Kakyoin volunteers to play him and comes fairly close to winning.
  • In the final battle against DIO, Kakyoin attacks him from a distance in an attempt to kill him once and for all. Although it doesn't work and he's tragically killed, he still manages to warn Joseph of DIO's Stand's power, who then relays the information to Jotaro, allowing Jotaro to finally kill the monstrous vampire.
  • Compared to the other members of the group from Part 3, Kakyoin is by far one of the nicest and most reasonable of the lot, even to the point where Jotaro regards him very fondly.

What Prevents Him From Being Pure Good?[]

  • He has some moments where he's a bit too lethal and can be downright brutal to DIO's enforcers, even considering them to be beyond redemption. However, this is a rather minor prevention and he's one of the least lethal of the group.
  • Additionally, he also can be petty towards his enemies at times, such as when he fed Mannish Boy his own feces in order to avenge his stand attack on the group during their sleep, but considering the sadism and weight of the latter's actions, this is also a minor prevention.
