Nico is a tritagonist in the Rio franchise. He is small yellow canary who often wears a green and blue bottle cap on his head. It can help him in battle as a weapon and a tambourine. He has a very close friendship with Pedro, and are always seen together. He runs a Samba Club with Pedro and Kipo.
He is voiced by Jamie Foxx.

What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Good?[]
- He's a supportive, friendly, and social bird to those around him and is good at giving advise.
- He tries to advice Blu in attracting with Jewel and tries to help them fall in love.
- He helps with the battle against the marmosets.
- He later saves Blu and Jewel so they could escape from the marmosets by throwing his bottle cap at the marmosets face.
- After Blu and Jewel had an argument, he and Pedro fly after her and tries to bring her back to Blu.
- As Pedro and Nico witness Jewel getting kidnapped by Nigel, they go back to Blu to inform him that Jewel got kidnapped by Nigel and is trying to take her to the parade.
- He was apart of the recuse group to save Jewel from Nigel.
- When Blu shared his worries about Jewel, Nico tries to advice by saying to see the jungle in her eyes and what she is tasting.
- He takes a part in defeating the Loggers from harming the Amazon by grabbing a pair of turtles and dropping it on the Loggers heads.
What Prevents Him From Being Pure Good?[]
- Nico fails the admirable standards to Blu, who saved Jewel's life from falling, as well as taking a huge part in defeating the Loggers and the Big Boss. However, he still has enough to pass the admirable standards by saving Blu and Jewel from the marmosets and letting them escape, informing to Blu that Jewel got kidnapped, and later tried rescuing her from Nigel, and taking a part in defeating the Loggers.
- He can be quite mischievous too, as he and Pedro let birds tie Eva up in leaves so they won't have to hear her terrible singing. This is overall quite harmless, making this a minor prevention.
