~ Nick after tricking Judy. |
“ | Nick: No. Chief Bogo: What did you say, fox? Nick: Sorry, what I said was "NO"! She will not be giving you that badge. Look, you give her a clown-vest, a three-wheeled joke mobile, and two days to solve a case you guys haven't cracked in two weeks? Yeah. No wonder she needed to get help from a fox. None of you guys were gonna help her, were you? Here's the thing chief, you gave her the 48 hours, so technically, we still have left.. 10 to find Mr. Otterton, and that's exactly what we're gonna do. So, if you'll excuse us, we have a very big lead to follow a case to crack. Good day. |

Nick Wilde is the deuteragonist of Disney's 55th full-length animated feature film Zootopia.
He is a con-artistic fox who gets involved in a police case about disappearances with a bunny officer, Judy Hopps, and helps her to get away from the charges against him, but creates a friendship with her once he is caught conning people by Judy and eventually solve the case for altruism and selflessness. He is set to appear in the upcoming series, Zootopia Plus.
He was voiced by Jason Bateman as an adult and by Kath Soucie as a child.
His Good Ranking[]
What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Good?[]
- Even as a criminal, he never seemed willing to seriously harm anyone, despite still being a mischievous con-artist.
- He agreed to help Judy in her case, and while out of self-serving motives, he kept helping her out of the friendship that grew between them and it stopped being self-serving by the end of the film. He even dropped his "scammy" tendencies as well.
- He saved Judy from Mr. Manchas in his savage state.
- He prevented Chief Bogo form firing Judy out of sympathy after the fiasco that was trying to get the police to see Manchas, stating they still had ten hours to solve the case, and it was what they were going to do.
- He had the idea to look up for whoever caught Manchas with the traffic cameras.
- He helped Judy infiltrate and arrest Mayor Lionheart, despite him eventually being revealed not to be the one behind the attacks.
- Gave Judy a well-needed reality check by telling her how ignorant her statements at the interview were, which helped her realize her mistakes and try to make amends.
- He forgave and reconciled with Judy after she (unintentionally) gave a "racist" interview, claiming predators are that way because of their DNA and all predators are subject to possibly go savage, agreeing in continuing to help with the case.
- He helped Judy get the evidence against the Night Howlers.
- He switched Bellwether's dart gun with blueberries, and put up an act of him going savage to keep her there for enough time for the ZPD Police Force to appear and arrest her, also having recorded her confession to make sure she was going down.
- He joined Zootopia's Police Department, became an officer like Judy, showing his willingness to help people.
What Prevents Him From Being Pure Good?[]
- He sometimes is a jerk, such as when he intentionally made Flash take too long to process the limousine just to spite Judy, telling Judy to give up on her dreams and become a carrot farmer, and telling Judy he does like seeing her fail 100%. It becomes more minor as the movie goes on (helped by the fact that surprisingly all of them were played for laughs), however, though he does not apologise for this behavior.
Trivia[]
- There is a chance that his status may change since Zootopia 2 has been confirmed.
