Nick Ramos is the main protagonist of Dead Rising 3. He is a seemingly normal survivor at first, but after getting infected and being healed of it, he is later revealed to be immune to the virus due to an experiment that Carlito Keyes had performed on him when he was a kid, meaning he contains the cure for the zombie virus in order to end the outbreaks that had been plaguing America for the past 15 years.
He was voiced by Andrew Lawrence.

What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Good?[]
In General[]
- Unlike other protagonists of the series, Nick saves people due to good intentions and wanting to help as many people as he can rather than having ulterior motives like Frank, who mostly cares about getting his story and saves people as a side note and Chuck, who openly admits to being tired of saving others by the 4th day on Dead Rising 2 and only cares for his daughter, while also becoming a fallen hero by the time of Dead Rising 3.
- He saves the lives of his allies and other survivors many times throughout the game without asking anything in return, even saving two people from Dylan Fuentes, who was a rapist and a torturer and saved 4 people from Albert Contiello, who was a sadistic organ harvester who kidnapped people and harvested them alive to sell their organs for profit.
- He tries to reason with the psychopaths he comes across, only murdering them in last resort, or self-defense.
Dead Rising 3[]
- He goes to find a way out of the city for him and his allies all by himself, only to find that the exits have been caved in with explosives.
- He successfully gets himself, Rhonda and Dick out of the diner they were cornered in and takes them to the safety of Rhonda's garage.
- He agrees to help the illegals to make up for him giving into Gary's manipulation by destroying enemy supplies, collecting evidence and offering to help them escape the city.
- Upon seeing Sgt. Hilde Schmittendorf kill two innocent people, Nick is shocked at her ruthlessness and defeats her in order to get the USB stick that contains evidence of the Special Ops wrongdoings.
- He infiltrates General Hemlock and Marian Mallon's compound and frees the illegals and Gary from their imprisonment.
- He finds the fuel needed for the plane and the plane parts needed for him and the others to escape the city.
- Upon learning that Diego lost the keys to the plane, he defeats the bikers who stole them and retrieves the keys, while also forgiving Diego for this blunder.
- Despite having many opportunities to escape from the firebombing easily by ditching his friends, he decides to stay behind and do the right thing so that others will not be put in danger.
- While there is an ending where this can occur, it isn't canon.
- When he finds Rhonda bleeding to death in her garage due to her arm getting cut off, he creates a new arm for her with a flamethrower attached to it.
- He then reunites Gary with her and saves Annie when zombies attempt to eat her inside the karaoke bar Gary tied her up in.
- When Red takes Isabela and Annie hostage in order to kill or capture him, he defeats Red and frees the two of them, fighting him once more before Annie finishes him off by dropping a container on him.
- He defeats Hemlock, who wanted to cause outbreaks all over the world to keep it in a state of martial law in order to rule it, saving billions of lives.
- He gives Brad Park a zombrex dose so he could prove he is not corrupt despite knowing the ZDC are not honest. This would lead to Rhonda, Gary, Brad himself and another survivor named Jeremy being able to escape the city before its explosion, with Brad also escaping with evidence that proved Hemlock and Marian were involved with the outbreak.
- He allows Isabela to make a cure out of his blood, which leads to Annie and Frank as well as many others being cured of infection.
What Prevents Him From Being Pure Good?[]
- He is vengeful, shown when he wanted to use violence on Isabela for starting the Willamette outbreak and for killing Diego and wanted to kill Red for betraying him and Annie, telling him "I'm gonna kill you with my bare fucking hands you son of a bitch".
Trivia[]
- He could be seen as an anti-hero due to how cold he gets at the end of the game, but he retains his care for his friends and innocent survivors and still has a sense of justice shown when he wanted to stop Hemlock from ruling or destroying the world, so it helps him become Near Pure Good.
- Some alternate ending involve him betraying someone; however, none of them are canon, thus allowing him to retain his Near Pure Good status.
