~ Nia |
Nia is the tritagonist of Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and a major protagonist in the third game. She is a friend of Rex who eventually marries him.
She was voiced by Catrin-Mai Huw in English and Hitomi Ōwada in Japanese.
Her Good Ranking[]
What Makes Her Close to Being Pure Good?[]
In General[]
- While she was originally a misanthrope, she later reformed that trait when Rex helped her realise that the world isn't so bad after all.
Xenoblade Chronicles 2[]
- After the events regarding finding Pyra and her reviving Rex by sharing her Core Crystal with him, Nia defected from the Torna group and joined Rex on his journey.
- Unwilling to see anyone else die on her watch, she finally decides to reveal her true power and transforms into her Blade form. With that revelation, she becomes Rex's Blade until reuniting with Pyra and Mythra, where Rex gains his Master Driver status and awakens Pneuma.
- She helps Rex defeat Malos in the final battle against him in Artifice Aion.
- After Malos is mortally wounded by Rex and Pneuma and dies, Nia sadly watches his particles disperse before she changes back into her Driver form for good and evacuates with everyone else while Pneuma remains behind to sacrifice herself to self-destruct Aion to destroy the World Tree.
- She encourages Rex to reunite with Pyra and Mythra at the end of the game.
Xenoblade Chronicles 3[]
- She planned to prevent the two worlds fused again because that would cause everyone to die.
- Along with Melia, Nia created Origin, which contained all the knowledge of their societies and the literal souls of their citizens, allowing them to be reborn after their worlds split and returned to their original forms. However, Origin would get corrupted, but Nia didn't intend this to happen.
What Prevents Her From Being Pure Good?[]
- While she does subvert her misanthropic tendencies, Nia is still a little jerkish and cocky even after she redeems herself. However, her jerkish behaviour is not a defining part of her character, so this is a minor prevention.
- At the beginning of chapter 7, Nia angrily hits Rex twice when he wanted to leave the party after Jin attacked them and kidnapped Pyra and Mythra, and he thought that was his fault that that happened. Although Nia wanted Rex to come to his senses and not give up, the way that she and Brighid did, was by hitting him and being harsh, giving the realistic outcome to Rex sticking in his decision. While at the end Rex stayed in the party, it was actually thanks to Poppi, since Nia at the end gave up in trying to convince Rex. Also it was never shown that Nia apologized to Rex for the way she acted.
