| ~ Natalie’s message in the ending book. |
Natalie Octarine is the co-protagonist of the Inkopolis Chaos trilogy, serving as the deuteragonist of Inkopolis Chaos, and one of the two main protagonists of Inkopolis Chaos 2 and Inkopolis Chaos 3. She is an octoling who was falsely accused of stealing a new weapon model, who is also avoiding octo valley to make sure she doesn’t get drafted into being a solider, as she wishes to live among inklings, where there is more freedom.
Her Good Ranking[]
What Makes Her Close to Being Pure Good?[]
- She is very protective of her friends and is willing to beat someone up if they lay a finger on them.
- She is very compassionate, as shown by her feeling sympathy for Sylvia upon hearing about her parents and feeling sympathy for the brainwashed octolings. She also cares about innocent people, especially octolings.
- She is especially caring and protective towards Samuel, and is often trying to help him out, feeling very grateful for all that he has done for her.
- She tries to keep peace between inklings and octolings, trying to lower racism as much as possible.
- Despite her past, she doesn’t hold any grudges against inklings in general.
- She is very proud of other octolings that rebelled.
- She saved Samuel from being beaten by Scarlet.
- She broke Samuel out of jail, saving him from a possible death sentence.
- She forgave Ruby for her actions.
- She and Samuel defeated Scarlet together.
- She, Samuel, Luke and Katelin saved dozens of octolings from a rigged train crash.
- She forgave Melissa for not trusting her, even showing a bit of sympathy for what she had to go through.
- She helped expose the octobusters, and fought against them.
- She offered Cyalux to change his ways multiple times, despite him crossing the Moral Event Horizon.
- She disarmed Cyalux, and indirectly caused his death. Causing this death saved countless lives in the process, because if Cyalux got octolings underground, Lt Obsidian would have thrown them in concentration camps, or executed them. This also got the octobusters disbanded.
- She felt guilty for killing Cyalux, deeply apologising to Samuel for it, and breaking down at the thought that she was an inkling murderer.
- She apologised to Summer for hitting her and forgave her for what she did to her two years ago.
- She admits that she has anger issues, showing she is aware of her faults.
- When fighting octolings who were brainwashed, she made sure to go for the shades to make sure they were free from control.
- She saved Samuel and Jade from being executed by Lieutenant Obsidian after she broke out of her cell.
- She refused to join Lt. Obsidian when she was given the chance.
- She reassured Samuel that he was good enough when he was feeling insecure and made sure his confidence was high before going into battle.
- She mourned Ruby’s death and felt quite bad about it. She also showed strong respect for her after what she did.
- She helped out a lot in the final battle, from distracting Scarlet to patching Summers wounds.
- She helped Samuel defeat Lt. Obsidian by stalling her so she couldn’t reboot the sabotaged bomb. She was also willing to die to do this, as shown by telling Samuel not to worry about her, and to focus on the bomb. This shows she was willing to die for the sake of saving the world.
- While she was very cold at the start of the series, she warms up quite quickly.
What Prevents Her From Being Pure Good?[]
- She has a really short fuse and can be a control freak at times, as shown many times in the series. For example, when she recognised Summer as the inkling who threatened her 2 years ago, she slapped her in the face and began yelling at her (although she apologised for this). As a result of her temper, she also sometimes acts violent when it isn't needed, threatening to beat up people for merely insulting her friends and constantly worries about how and what they’re doing, which while good intended, is a little bit too far.
