Nana is an supporting character in the Elfen Lied series. She is an Diclonius Silpelit who unlike most of her kind isn't violent towards humans due to the care of Kurama preventing her from being driven to murder.

Her Good Ranking[]

What Makes Her Close to Being Pure Good?[]

In General[]

  • Despite being a member of the Diclonius, she still chooses to be good and pacifistic towards humans thanks to Kurama's kind and caring for her preventing her from going down same path like Lucy, Mariko and the rest.
  • While she had some berserker moments it is due to her being pushed to the brim emotionally through cruel opponents making them more of Heating-Up Periods since she mostly calm in combat and shown remorse afterwards.
  • While she isn't admirable compared to Lucy, she is more stronger than Nana making a bit unfair of an comparison and she is still able to pass the low admirable standards of Elfen Lied due to reforming Kurama and protecting her friends from Lucy (when a On & Off Villain), the Unknown Man and the Special Assault Team.

Both Adaptions[]

  • She would attempt to retrieve Lucy for Kurama without using violence until she was forced to do so with her still refusing to kill Lucy.
  • While she did attack Bando it was out of self-defense and didn't go overboard save for a Heating-Up Period with her being pushed to a breaking point and have a minor berserk moment she felt remorse for.
  • She has a helping hand in the Maple Inn House and while she did attack Lucy (as Nyu) trying to kill her, she did apologize later on though however.
  • She would attempt to leave Mapple Inn when she sensed Mariko approaching so her friends aren't endangered of being harmed taking any punishment inflicted on her for sake of her friends.

Anime[]

  • She warned Kouta (who followed after her in this adaption) on how dangerous Mariko is.
  • She help Lucy fight Mariko while also protecting Kurama.

Manga[]

  • She would protect Kurama from Mariko and later from Lucy (who has a more villainous role in the manga) once she and Mariko became allies against their common foe.
  • She convinced Kurama to spare Nyu by saying people care for her but would deal with her when she became Lucy again.
  • She would defend her friends from Unknown Man when he was searching for Lucy despite her failed attempts.
  • She assisted Bando again in dealing with Lucy during his rematch despite him not wanting help.
  • She would defend her friends of the Mapple Inn from Special Assault Team despite being it futile.
  • She comforted Kurama dealing with Mariko's loss despite him trying to push her away and protect him from a Mariko clone.

What Prevents Her From Being Pure Good?[]

  • While she is more benevolent than other Diclonius, she still is minor lethal as despite her good intentions she still attacked Lucy (As Nyu) when she wasn't a threat to anyone at the time when she found her at the Maple Inn but this is a minor prevention since she is usually a pacifist and apologized for it.
  • She has minor moral agency issues as since she is an Diclonius Silpelit she ages faster than her mental state can mature and due to her being isolated from outside world, she was unfamiliar with some concepts like money or romance which made her use her money as firewood or claiming she will be Kurama's wife. However, since she chooses to be good despite being an member of a hostile species and improved her familiarity with then a bit making it a minor prevention.
    • Despite her claiming she will be Kurama's wife at the end of the Manga, it isn't considered extremely corrupting due to it being from said minor moral agency issues as she lacked the familiarity of the concepts of romance or marriage and she only intended claim that role to help keep him company and comfort him after having to deal with Mariko's death, not out of romantic feelings and she likely had no idea the significance of it anyways.

Trivia[]

  • She and Kouta are the only Elfen Lied Near Pure Goods as most of the other heroes either have too much corrupting factors or not admirable enough/bog-standard.
