“ | We should come up with secret codenames, we're secret agents now! I'll start, I'm going to be... ...Mystique. | „ |
~ Raven creates her alias |
Mystique (real name Raven Darkholme) is a major character in the revised continuity of 20th Century Studios's X-Men film series. She is a mutant with the ability to shape-shift into anyone and also copy their voice.
Abandoned by her parents at a young age, Raven met the telepathic prodigy Charles Xavier, who sheltered her, after which a brotherly-sisterly relationship was formed between them. For a long time, she hid her unusual appearance and sought to be like humans, however, after meeting other mutants, she stopped being ashamed of her origin and became a radical fighter for the interests of their species and saving the world from evil.
She was portrayed by Jennifer Lawrence, who also portrayed Katniss Everdeen in the Hunger Games franchise.
Her Good Ranking[]
What Makes Her Close to Being Pure Good?[]
- Although in the Original Timeline she was shown to be a cruel and evil woman, following any orders from Magneto, after the timeline was changed, she lost these qualities and became a heroine.
- She became like a sister to Charles Xavier, and was always ready to protect him from any danger. And even though she switched from him to Magneto, she felt remorse about it, and considered it the only way to help other mutants.
- She helped Charles and Eric establish a school for mutant children, in which she participated in their education.
- She fell in love with Hank, and that made her ready to accept herself for who she is.
- She helped Charles, Eric and other mutants defeat Sebastian Shaw, and thus prevent him from unleashing a world nuclear war.
- She tried her best to stop Bolivar Trask on her own for his cruel and painful experiments on mutants, and even cried when she saw photos of dead mutants in the documents, whom she considered relatives.
- She listened to Charles and didn't kill Bolivar Trask, as that would lead to a very bad future, and then she stopped Eric from killing Trask as well.
- She trained child recruits to turn them into heroic mutants.
- When Eric defected to the Apocalypse, believing that he had lost his entire family, she persuaded him to switch back to the heroic side, saying that he was like a native person to her and Charles.
- She, along with other X-Men, took part in the destruction of the Apocalypse to prevent it from destroying all life on Earth.
- She, along with other X-Men, took part in the rescue of astronauts.
- When Jean Grey became angry, she tried to negotiate with her in a good way, without showing any aggression towards her, unfortunately leading to her death as she is impailed by an unstable Jean.
What Prevents Her From Being Pure Good?[]
- She can be an arrogant at times, for example, when she advised renaming the team to the X-Women, because she believed that she had a much greater influence on her than the others.
- Although she has lost almost all of her villainous and anti-heroic qualities, she can still be lethal, as shown when she was ready to kill Bolivar Trask for his brutal torture of mutants, and she would have done it if it hadn't been for Charles. She also threatened Magneto not to pursue her.
