His Good Ranking[]
What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Good?[]
- He took care of Po for over two decades after he wound up in a Radish crate, taking care of him and being a caring father towards him during that time.
- When Po was feeling down after finding that the Dragon Scroll contained nothing, he revealed the secret ingredient of his noodles was nothing, since to make something special, you have to believe that it's special.
- This which wound up being that thing that made Po realize that the scroll meant that the power lies within oneself, allowing him to beat Tai Lung, something he would've had a surface level knowledge of as seen by him praising Po at the end of the film.
- After Li Shan had a fight with Po, Mr. Ping came and comforted him, motivating him to help Po defeat Kai the Collector.
- While he was a jerk towards Li Shan, he later came to realize the wrong in his actions, and would ultimately go onto befriend him.
- He and Li Shan gathered the Panda Village together and offered themselves to Po in order to be trained so that they can effectively help fight against Kai.
- He teamed up with Li Shan in order to fight off Kai the Collector and his forces.
- He, Li Shan, Tigress and the rest of the Panda Village united together and used their Chi to help Po, which would ultimately allow him to defeat Kai in the afterlife as well as reviving him.
- He and Li Shan were both worried when Po went off to fight the Chameleon along with Zhen, and decided to go find him.
- He and Li Shan saved Po from falling to his death.
- While not as admirable as characters like Po, Shifu, Tigress and Oogway, he manages to stand out thanks to his lower resources and playing a crucial part in Po defeating Tai Lung and Kai the Collector.
What Prevents Him From Being Pure Good?[]
- He can occasionally be arrogant and selfish when it comes to his business.
- When he gradually learns about Po accidentally giving Shifu food poisoning, he laughs about it, is unbothered by Po's confession, and calls it good publicity for his restaurant due to how esteemed Shifu is.
- When hearing Po's concerns about being the new teacher of the Jade Palace, he ignored them in favor of the idea of Po getting a promotion, upon which he may be able to "sell noodles in the lobby".
