Monster Kid is a minor character in Undertale.

They are a young kid who idolizes Undyne. first seen in Snowdin before really making themselves known in Waterfall, where they appear multiple times, interacting with and assisting the player. At the end of the game, Monster Kid is seen with the other monsters, helping the player fight against the ever malicious Flowey the Flower.

What Makes Them Close to Being Pure Good?

• As opposed to most of the other cast, Monster Kid is shown to be friendly towards the player the moment they meet, making them one of the few non-hostile creatures you encounter in the game.
• While they do often fall on their face, this doesn't make them incompetent, as it does nothing to affect their admirability.
• Throughout Waterfall, they assist you on your journey, such as when they helped boost the player up a wall, and while this is indirect, they also stopped Undyne from attacking the player several times throughout as well.
• If the player chooses to save Monster Kid from falling off the bridge, they will stand up for them against Undyne, telling them to go away.
• In the Genocide Route of the game, they willingly put themselves in enemy lines to fight you in order to stop others from getting hurt.
  • It is also seen that if you choose to spare them at this moment, they will express how they knew you weren't that bad, showing that they were also trying to prove that you weren't a bad person.
• During the True Pacifist route, they are seen amongst the monsters, assisting in rebelling against Flowey's power.
• While they did say that Undyne was a jerk at the end of the True Pacifist Route, this is understandable, as they didn't fully know why she acted that way and why she always acted so tough.

What Prevents Them From Being Pure Good?

• Despite passing the baseline, they still fail the admirable standards to Papyrus, who not only pulled a similar feat of putting his life on the line to try and redeem the player in the Genocide Route. But he also played a far more involved role in the Neutral/Pacifist routes where he helps the player befriend/redeem Undyne, all with relatively similar resources to Monster Kid.
