He is voiced by Pete Davidson.
His Good Ranking[]
What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Good?[]
- He went to Earth and joined Optimus Prime's team in order to regroup and reassemble to take the fight back to the Decepticons.
- When Noah Diaz was trying to steal his vehicle form at the same time that Optimus Prime called for the Autobots to assemble, he left to answer the call while also getting Noah out of trouble and trying to keep him safe.
- He shook off the cops that were chasing them.
- He tried to act friendly with Noah in spite of the other Autobots' skeptism of humans and befriended him rather quickly while also defending him from the others.
- He proposed the idea of having Noah help them steal the TransWarp key and helped him infiltrate the museum by posing as a garbage truck.
- When the Terrorcons attacked, he fought back alongside the other Autobots and tried to protect Noah and Elena.
- He promised to Kris that he would keep Noah safe even if it cost him his life and kept radio contact with him.
- He went with the others on Stratosphere to locate and find the second half of the TransWarp key before Scourge could find it and prevent him from allowing Unicron to cross over to devour Earth.
- He gives Noah a multi-purposed gauntlet which would up his fighting chance and ultimately save his life on several occasions.
- He stood guard alongside Optimus in the festival on his vehicle form to look out for the Terrorcons.
- After being radioed by Noah for help, he and the other Autobots went to find them, however all the others were detained fighting the Terrorcons, leaving Mirage as the only one to go help.
- Upon finding Optimus Primal looming over Noah and Elena, he attempted to defend them from a potential threat before being tackled by Cheetor.
- He tried to protect his friends from the Terrorcon-controlled Airazor and later expressed deep sorrow over her demise.
- He led Noah and Elena into an access tunnel that would allow them to stealthily infiltrate the terminal and disable the TransWarp key before Unicron could arrive.
- He acted as a distraction by fighting Scourge head on, keeping him from finding the humans or from joining the battle and attacking the Autobots or Maximals, even holding his own for a surprising amount of time and mannaging to damage Scourge to the point he lost his mask.
- When Scourge prepared to shoot Noah and kill him, Mirage leapt in between and took the shots, showing he was willing to keep the promise he made to Kris and sacrifice his life for his friends, assuring Noah it would be okay and taking as much damage as he could until his apparent death.
- After revealing himself to have survived, he transformed his own body into an exo-suit for Noah that allowed him to fight back against Scourge and later assist Optimus in the final battle against the Terrorcon leader, which led to the destruction of the TransWarp Key and the salvation of Earth from Unicron.
- His exo-suit allowed Noah to save Optimus Prime's life after he tried to sacrifice himself.
What Prevents Him From Being Pure Good?[]
- He can be arrogant and let the vanity get to his head as shown when he carelessly missed the Freezer tracking Noah and reported to Optimus that the coast was clear, endangering the lives of their human allies. He also seems to think very highly of himself, telling Noah that there are no other Cybertronians like him.
- He can be reckless as he acts alone without waiting for his team and endangered the lives of several cops during their chase of him and Noah, even causing them to crash.
Trivia[]
- He is the second NPG in the Reboot Films, after Optimus Prime.
- His characterization resembles that of Smokescreen from the Aligned Continuity.
- Mirage was at one point intended to really die, but proved so popular among the filming crew, the post credits scene with his return was added as a late addition to the final film.
- Him being assigned the nickname Knuckles is actually rather odd, since his personality (and coincidentally his NPG status) would be closer to Sonic, whose name is already similarly appropriated by Noah.
