When people laugh at Mickey Mouse, it's because he's so human; and that is the secret of his popularity. I only hope that we don't lose sight of one thing — that it was all started by a mouse.

~ Mickey's most famous quote, also his very first words.
He is voiced by the late founder of Disney and his creator Walt Disney, the late Clarence Nash for only one short, which was also originally the first voice of Donald Duck, and the late James MacDonald in 1947 in the old Classic shorts. Later on, he is voiced by Les Perkins in the specials, the late Wayne Allwine from 1977 to 2009, and currently by Bret Iwan through the rest of the series and Chris Diamantopoulos also voices him in the new animated shorts.
While he was morally questionable in the late 20s and early 30s, often being abusive, he subverted a ton of these qualities in the late 1930s.

Disney Illusion Island[]
The only reason Mickey and his friends collected the Tomes of Knowledge for Toku and turned the keepers of the Tomes into stone, was because Toku had tricked them to believe that the keepers where thieves who stole the books from him, and that they could only be stopped by said spell.
Once Mickey and his friends found out the truth, they were horrified by their actions, and Mickey pointed out that they were villains rather than heroes.
Mickey, alongside his friends, decided to fix the damage they had done by freeing the keepers from the spell and stop Toku.
Alongside his friends, Mickey managed to free Grayzar/Mazzy from Toku's control.
What Prevents Him From Being Pure Good?[]
Despite being generally a selfless and wholehearted character, he can sometimes lose his temper and be jerkish, arrogant and/or act mischievous, though this is quite rare, making this a minor prevention.
Trivia[]
Being created in 1928, he's one of the oldest Near Pure Goods (coming fourth to Felix The Cat, Gavroche, and Don Quixote, respectively), as well as the second earliest Cartoon Near Pure Good, also behind Felix the Cat.
