Mettaton is the supporting character of the webcomic Inverted Fate.
He is the Underground's celebrity and showhost and is the Royal Scientist Undyne's anti-human robot. Secretly, he appreciates human's culture and after hearing from Napstablook about Frisk being friendly, he decides to help them.

What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Good?[]
- Different from his Undertale counterpart, he never abandoned his friends and family for fame, with Napstablook and Shyren appearing on his shows. Alongside this, he never replaced the fountain on his hotel, with Asriel's statue remaining there and while Chara's statue was vandalized by the monsters, he salvaged and repaired it, keeping it in his home.
- He is one of the few monsters who hasn't succumbed for the misanthropy from the Underground, with human's culture being the reason he wanted to become a celebrity and while his body has anti-human weaponry, he reluctantly accepted it to get close to his dream.
- Mettaton save Frisk from Catty and Bratty in Waterfall. Later, he lets them explore Forgespring as an "intern" until Papyrus returns.
- He tells Frisk to help Alphys so he will "bend the rules" in Hotland to protect them, allowing her to finally stop hiding behind a "mask". He also managed to get the Snowdin Trio to leave the cemetery and made sure Frisk wasn't spotted.
- During Hotland, he always managed to protect Frisk and Papyrus from Undyne through "Plot Twists" and his shows. He also pretended to be hurt by Papyrus's attack during the tournament and while he chased the duo, he was forced into it and tried to make Undyne reconsiders her actions toward Papyrus.
- During the "trial" when it was Dohj's turn, he, alongside Undyne and Papyrus, poked holes in her testimony to protect Frisk and Papyrus. The used the pretense of a "plot twist" by claiming the 'human's evil twin' from another dimension the culprit to declare Frisk not guilty.
- While he was completely forced to fight Frisk and use actual attacks against them, it is revealed he was actually buying time and use a false special attack consisting of blue bombs to give an escape route but Undyne thrwated that idea. He also had left food and vending machines across the CORE to aid the human and left a 'I'm sorry' note in the last one.
- He managed to disable Undyne's firewall to allow Papyrus to message Frisk. This proved crucial since Papyrus informed them about the phone's charge beam to defeat the Determinator.
- When Undyne was melting due to the DT in her body and being fatally attacked, he still tried to help her fly her to safety despite knowing the risks of turning into an amalgamate.
- After Frisk reloaded the Save, he focused on helping Papyrus after Frisk informed him of Undyne's mecha and her knowing his battle was a bluff.
- After Frisk's jetpack was destroyed by the Determinator, he and Papyrus aid them in battle with him firing healing projectiles and blocking Undyne's attacks.
- He recorded the battle between Frisk and Papyrus against Undyne to the entire Underground, allowing monsterkind to beg Undyne to stop fighting, making her to fled the scene and later helping Frisk to reach the elevator.
- The dating prize wasn't a scam and he allpwed Frisk and Papyrus to join him and agreed to help get the monsters to the capital. It is also revealed he has made a documentary to defend Chara and while Chara was crying through Frisk due to it, he comforted them.
- He tried to reveal his true colors for the public in order to end the constant misanthropy from the Underground before it was interrupted by his other cousin Mad Mew Mew.
- Agreed to apologize for Undyne and alongside Frisk, Papyrus and Alphys, he went to the True Lab to find her.
- After managing to break free from the Memory Heads's control, he drive them away with his sword.
- After finding Undyne, everyone involved made amends with each other and convince her to go for the capital.
- Alongside Alphys, he tried to protect Frisk from Flowey after he betrayed everyone with his magic before being absorbed.
What Prevents Him From Being Pure Good?[]
- He can be jerkish as shown with his treatment of Burgerpants such as forcing him to do costumer changes every week and saying how he sucks at his job, and he was always belittlying Undyne at every moment in his shows. This is minor considering he stole some food and most of these acts are offscreen, and Undyne wanted to kill Frisk.
