Melony Melone is a major character in SMG4.
She is a watermelon-turned-deity who helps out on many of Mario and SMG4's adventures, often getting them out of trouble while protecting those she cares about.
She is mostly voiced by Kayleigh Smyth, while her singing voice is provided by Hackerling.
Her Good Ranking[]
What Makes Her Close to Being Pure Good?[]
In General[]
- Despite being a watermelon, thanks to the fierce deity mask, she possesses a full moral agency, as she is shown multiple times to care for her friends.
- While she sometimes causes destruction on accident, she is mostly always ready to apologize for her actions.
- She is always supportive of her friends no matter what happens.
- While she was initially worked with SMG3 to steal Susan's remote in the YouTube arc, this was before she had a moral agency as she was an inanimate fruit, therefore this doesn't detract from her admirability.
- Additionally, she even turned against him without knowing it.
SMG4[]
Genesis Arc[]
- She opposed to Swag nuking Peach's castle just to get rid of Niles/SMG0's guardian pod.
- While she did take a photo of Robotnik's nudes and posted it on Twitter.com, she only did it to get closer to Niles/SMG0.
- She fought against Niles/SMG0 in an effort to save Axol, and although she tried her very best, she ultimately agreed to give him a mercy kill, which she herself opposed to while feeling heavy remorse that she couldn't save him.
- She stopped Niles/SMG0 from reshaping SMG4's universe into his own image.
Revelations Arc & SMG4 Movie: Revelations[]
- In memory of Axol, she tried her best to train to better control her powers so she could save people.
- She refused to retaliate against Niles (when she only thought he was a college bully) when he tried to get a rise out of her, and only started fighting back when he provoked Swag into trying to kill Melony for getting hit with a paper airplane.
- Furthermore, when she later found out that she was actually the one causing all the problems due to being manipulated by Niles, she felt remorse for it, so this isn't a detracting quality.
- She, along with the rest of the SMG4 gang, rescued everyone Mario sacrificed to the box club.
- After being used as a vessel for Niles to reach the god box, she forced him out of her body and fought against him again to stop him from destroying the multiverse, and only went for lethal strikes when it was absolutely necessary.
Puzzlevision Saga[]
- Although she tried to defeat SMG4 and Mario in WOTFI 2024, she had been brainwashed by Mr. Puzzles after she tried to resist, so this moment doesn't count against her.
- Along with Mario and Meggy, she helped throw a party for Karen, even if she didn't appreciate it at first.
- She showed up in the Internet Archive with the rest of the glitchy gang to stop Mr. Puzzles and Mr. WPNZ, though the former was able to time travel before they could do anything.
- After all the previous arc villains were brought back for the rap battle, she fought them to buy Mr. Puzzles time to fix the YouTube remote.
Other Moments[]
- She is always willing to take a non-violent solution when possible, seen in The Intruder, as she didn't try to hurt the bee.
- Despite him and his friends was bad to Mario like hurt him for destroy the Giant pizza in "if Mario was the last man on the Earth" is still friendly with him and she just punish Mario ever although was to far.
- Thanks to her puppet act, she helped her friends raise money for furniture to construct a castle at the Showgrounds.
- In the "Western Spaghetti" Movie, she healed Bob after getting shot by Wren.
- She made Mangas of Two Piece to continue Axol's Legacy.
What Prevents Her From Being Pure Good?[]
- She has multiple moments after the Revelations Arc that showcase her being needlessly violent. However, she is overall portrayed as someone who is willing to do whatever's right and is rarely evil, so this is a minor prevention. Examples include:
- Assembling a troop of armed chairs to shoot Bob for breaking a different chair.
- Throwing Boopkins into a fountain for trying to cut a non-sapient watermelon.
- Threatening Mario with her sword when he tried to host a watermelon eating contest, forcing him to turn it into a watermelon hugging contest.
- Ruining a game because she was woken up from a nap.
- Presumably attacking Mario for pranking her by dressing up as a ghost while she was trying to sleep.
- Almost destroying Cosco over a nightmare, and while she wasn't aware of it while asleep, she saw the destruction when she woke up and didn't show any care.
- Her biggest fault would be her sheer laziness, as she would mostly be seen sleeping and oblivious to the destruction happening. An example of this is in the "It's Gotta Be Perfect" movie where she was busy sleeping when Bob tried to call for help to fight off the Eldritch Goop.
Trivia[]
- Melony was originally approved as Pure Good, but upon reanalysis, Melony was eventually proposed to be removed from Pure Good and later approved as Near Pure Good upon starting to show some corrupting factors in later videos such as excessive violence and laziness.
- She is the only SMG4 character to formerly be Pure Good and moved to Near Pure Good so far.
- She is also currently the only SMG4 Crew member to Near Pure Good, while Axol is also a member of the SMG4 Crew to be Near Pure Good, he is a former member as he passed away in WOTFI 2021.
- There's a chance Melony would stop being NPG if she gains more corrupting qualities in the last few episodes or the final movie.
